Reading threads over a period of time shows some like to cook in the van using an oven, remoska etc. Some like to barbacue. Some prefer to eat out. Some buy local produce. Some take food with them. Some prepare and freeze food. Recently we have been experimenting with a small slow cooker. What do you do?

We mostly cadac outside but do use the MH hob, oven and microwave as required.

Hash browns in oven, beans on hob, that sort of thing.

A real mix for us. Last year we ate mostly in restaurants, but there were a few times when I’d have liked something in as we had planned to eat in the pub, but it looked a bit ropey, or there was nothing we fancied. This year I have cooked and frozen a month’s worth of meals for us, as we’ve had some bad financial news and herself is no fan of French food (or most English food, really)

We carry a microwave and a halogen oven, which is mostly what we use at home. I barbecue occasionally, but as we’ve previously travelled mostly in the uk, not as often as I would like!

We bulk buy meat in the UK before setting off, portion it and freeze to take with us. We then buy fresh produce and fish from markets and supermarkets whilst touring. I cook 95% of our meals in or outside the van using hob / pressure cooker / CADAC.

tend to use a pressure cooker in the camper or at home.
do have a full cooker with oven in my trailer just like the one in my house.
but having worked in the catering trade i tend to pressure cook for quickness and less pots to wash.
mind at xmas a nice honey roast gammon joint etc is a definite choice cooked in the oven .
old fashioned enamel dish with a pimpled lid is the way in the oven.
never eat out not in uk and not abroad . they cant cook any better than me anyway.

I mainly use the motorhome hob, sometimes the oven (but rarely the grill because it is pretty useless) and
a mixture of fresh, tinned and frozen ingredients - just like at home really.
