Our new MH is due to arrive in October and it comes with a Truma 6e. Given recent difficulties some have been having getting LPG, I'm wondering whether removing this fuel source might make life a little easier if I can adequately replace it with electricity and diesel, which are already on board.

Let's say for example I ask the manufacturer to fit a Truma 6de instead of the 6e. That moves heating and water to diesel, and negates the need for a diesel heater. My only issue then is cooking and the fridge. Are there suitable and practical diesel and/or electric fridge freezers and cookers/hobs? I'm guessing induction for the hob part.

The plan is around 200+ah of Lithium, and a good amount of solar. Exact specifics to be decided. We're away for extended periods and rarely on hookup.

Many thanks.

Whilst there is a shortage of lpg about, personally I've not experienced it.
Just filled/topped up at morrisons cribbs causeway Bristol on the way back from a meet at Quackers CL site Woodbury field.
Also shell garage A38 Carkeel roundabout has it.

Not familiar with the Trauma combi you mention.
I have the traumatic older version gas or 240v for water, and Gas for heating. But it takes a while and not that efficient.

To compensate this I have recently fitted a diesel heater which has the van toasty in minuets, and with a Bluetooth remote control.

Induction hob if you mean 240v OK if on ehu but as far as I know would not be kind to batteries even lithium when Wilding. But I stand to be corrected.

Used to have a Taylor diesel heater/cooker on a boat effective, but haven't heard of any successful for a moho.?

12v f/f I believe there are members on here using them. And Thetford have a range of them, whether they would meet your needs?

Good luck and enjoy your moho when it arrives

You can get diesel hobs but I'm not sure many folk could get on with them. Webasto make one but there are a few other makes. An induction hob would only really be practical if you were on EHU.

The best alternative to a gas fridge would be an all electric compressor type. They are more widely used these days, probably because they are cheaper from the manufacturer's point of view.

You will need a reasonable amount of solar and batteries if going gas-free and not on EHU.

I have 400 of lithium and the induction hob isnt a problem.

it wasnt a problem when I had 200 ah, but I managed to bag another 200 for very reasonable cost so went that route.
I still have gas, but use the leccy mostly.
1 problem is.....only 1 ring :)
