We are about to uprate our van, which entails fitting wheels and tyres with a load rating of 121.
After speaking to Continental and checking with our Carthago dealer we are about to order Vancontact 4 season.
Before we spend our hard earned pennies does anyone have any for or againsts please.

Have then on my van no problems whatsoever. However you can see from my avatar what thay are on.
No idea on a b.. great big carthago.

We chose them in 15 inch so we could uprate to 112 index, increasing our axle weights.
Proved to be great so far, quiet, grips well on wet muddy fields and has all the M&S/Alpine 3peak markings.
Enabled us to run at lower pressures too for a more comfortable ride.

The big plus for Continental tyres is when you know your axle weights they give very precise pressure recommendations which will generally give a much better ride.

Went for Michelin Agilis Camping on last van and they performed brilliantly. Came as standard on new van and we have to have pressure up very high as per manufacturers settings otherwise pressure sensors trip. Ride is a bit harsh on rough roads, but good on a decent surface and road holding is great. Never tried Continentals, but guess the performance would be pretty similar so probably down to cost/personal preference. Have tried non-camper tyres in the past thinking I'd save money and the camper rating was just a gimmick to get me to part with my cash.....big mistake!! Van rolled all over the place, drifted on corners and pulled left and right, even after tracking/pressures set. Was a terrifying drive to Croatia, I can tell you!!

Had Continental fourseasons2 on our van for 6+years and over 50k miles and very happy with them.

We do need some more soon so are saving up for 6

I rate Conti's highly, no direct experience of the 4 season but the camping ones are far superior than the Michelin Agilis Camping, better grip better wear.
Current van has Michelin Agilis Camping on it can't wait to get rid of them, very hard ride and highish wear rate.

Michelin do not do a camping tyre with a high enough load rating, we need 121 which is why we are looking at Continentals. Thanks for all your advice, I will order them over the weekend.
If anyone is interested we will be selling our Michelin Agilis, Fiat Alloys and a new spare wheel.By the time we get round to having new ones fitted they will have about 7000 miles on them and will have be 14 months old. If anyone is interested PM me.

Neither Michelin or Conti manufacture camping tyres with the 3peak symbol, you currently have the choice of the Conti 4 season, Michelin Agilis Cross Climates or Agilis Alpin all with 121 load rating. All are conventional commercial tyres with a C rather than CP rating. Michelin are developing a “camper” tyre with the 3 peak rating but no idea when it’ll be available.
Both manufacturers say you should inform your insurance company if using commercial rates tyres.
But Carthago fit Contis in specific circumstances ?
All the above tyres hav good reviews from those who’ve used them
