In case you're wondering. The dummy is me. I simply want to fit an extra 12v socket and the easiest run is from the EBL but I have no idea how to connect here. I have the translated manual and I've stared at it for 4 hours but just need a sympathetic person to take me through this. I can see that 12v sockets connect to block 5 or 8 and that there should be spares available but that's all I know.

Block 8,. Pin 1 is +ve, pin 5 is - ve, this is cct spare 1

Block5, pin6 is +ve,. Pin 11 is -ve, this is cct spare 2

Manual page 14 shows location of blocks and the pin numbers, may only show first row pin numbers 1 and 3, the rest follow on.

Use a meter to check the sockets with fuse in and out to make sure you know correct pins.

Terminals to fitin the sockets are mate n lok pins. One part is male, the other female.
They come in different sizes, i think you need these but measure to make sure.

Probably a youtube video somewhere on how to te redrminate mate n lok pins. Make sure you push connected pin into correct hole, can be awkward to remove afterwards.

Ah, I see. I downloaded the manual thanks to your previous reply but couldn't make out the pin logic.

Sorry to keep sounding so ignorant but do you remove the block connector or just push the wired pins in in situ?
Also do I isolate the whole ebl 30 or just remove the appropriate fuse?

I would remove the block connector before inserting pins. The block connector is dead once removed from the ebl so no need , in my opinion, to switch off the ebl.

I would test, with a meter the actual ebl sockets you intend connecting to first. Dead with fuse out, live with fuse in. Ie the spare circuit 1 and 2 fuses.
What are you connecting , how many amps will it need? Suggest you keep loads to 10amp max.

Thanks for your help. It's just a plug for charging phones and tablets, they're all over this van but none where I need them. Either 12V cigar type or twin usb.

Well the "spares" are all used up but there are empty spots on block 8, pins 4 and 11 which strangely are marked up multimedia. Pulling the (10a) fuse verifies these.

Given you are only charging tablets etc then both sockets on 1 fuse should be fine. Can see no reason not to use bk 8 pins 4&11.
Not sure you will get 2 wires into 1 pin, you may/will need to common them before connecting to pin.

EBL is for Elektroblock. The manfacturer Schaudt calls the fuse box/charger Elektroblock
