Good morning all, I am still relatively new to this so apologies. I have attached an image and I basically need to connect my new, micro switched, campervan kitchen tap up to the old connections. The old tap has been removed and the cables snipped leaving me with the cables that I need to connect to the new tap.

There seems to be a multitude of connector blocks out there and a variety of approaches.

Any pointers would be appreciated. My understanding is that it simply needs to be a connector block that supports the 12v and be waterproof.

Is there a preferred connector block? do the wires need stripping first Or is it just easier to get some blocks from amazon where they can be clamped in.

A link to the preferred blocks would be appreciated.

Mine were just connected with simple chocolate blocks. It shouldn't be damp behind the taps. Just don't leave the chocolate blocks dangling or the wires will eventually break off from the movement of the van.

A better option might be waterproof solder connectors. I've used them under the bonnet to connect up the screen washer pump and they seemed to work well.

I used wago lever connectors. They are not waterproof, but under the sink is dry so I thought ok.
They also are available in 3 way and larger, all wires are electrically connected together in one block.

I changed a bathroom tap recently and used crimped spade connectors. The connectors were crimped onto the wires and the heat-shrink covering went over the join between the wire and the connector on both the tap side and the van side. The spade connectors were then given a wrap of electrical tape once they were connected. Nice and secure and also easy to change taps again in the future should I need or want to do so.

If you have got crimping tool for spade connectors, you could use the original cable with the connectors and join with something like this.
