We've just moved to a fixed bed van and I see under the bed that the wiring is protected by tubes of err I guess it's called wiring protection tubing. I'd like to beef this up a bit less I ram into the wiring boxes with junk equipment; what do people use? Eg copper plumbing pipe plastic covers or radsnaps or ... well what are the different liked tubing / conduit options? Similarly I see I'll easily be able to dump stuff on to and toggle the water drain switch when I don't want to and I'm going to cover that with say gaffa taped cut milk bottle, coke bottle .. what other protective improvised containers do you all use? Does anyone protect their blow air heating tubing?

You can tell this is new vehicle and I'm dying to tinker can't you ...

I've used standard plastic trunking inside cupboards and lockers when running extra wiring. But If that's flexible conduit you're talking about then I agree with pappajohn.

If its outside I use corrugated plastic tubing. Like what used to be used for caravan wastepipes but comes in lots of sizes.

Luckily, all the wiring and heater tubing is well tucked away in our van with no chance of catching or squashing everything. But, if it was exposed I would use that split plastic tubing that’s sold to protect and tidy wiring.
Something like this.....

Where exposed I would use corrugated plastic tubing, it's available 'split' so that you can apply it to existing wiring looms without having to disconnect and thread wires through tube. There are even joining and 't' pieces available to allow wires to be dropped off the main run etc.

Also get yourself a big roll of self amalgamating tape :)

Papajohn and Autorouter yes it is flexible conduit that the existing wiring is in so ok maybe I'm ov erly concerned, thanks. Thanks Anlanm and Recentlyretired. Rod_vw wow that's that an impressive list of self-builds! Tacr2man thats for the self amalgamating tape mention, I'd not heard of that before.
