hi guys . don't know if this is aloud but bills computer while he was doing something & in locked him out . the screen said ( stop code = critical process died ) my old man's not the sharpest knives in the draw when it comes to computers .
but our friends live in Coningsby .Lincolnshire where there is a computer repair shop 3 days later back good as new & all our video's & photos are safe including an exterior hard drive for back up WHICH bill should have done in the first place . val

Tip. Don't leave the backup drive connected to the pc unless you're running a backup. Keep the backup drive in a separate dry building if possible.

after many years of cyber attacks on our computers we now use iPads , been 6 years with no problems , I wouldn’t go back

Having had problems years ago, I now use an external harddrive to save any/all files, I also save everything to a memory stick, on the first of every month I do a back up to a second harddrive not paranoid at all
It also makes it much easier when replacing a computer.

hi guys .that's just what bill has done but will stick to his laptop not keen on ipads he likes the big screen its an old thing with us . val
