Hi all

Sorry, just in regards to my previous fridge post, with issues surrounding my parent's MH fridge not cooling, which appears to possibly due to it being parked on their drive which is on a slight slope; if they opted for a compressor fridge, would they have similar issues or doesn't those types encounter such issues when not on the level?

TIA

Compressor fridges don’t need to be level 😉 Expensive to replace and probably need extra batteries and solar for off grid use

Thank you, Terry
We have one in our new van which we are picking up on 18th. It's got solar but we're not really off grid types (scared of my own shadow n all)
Looking at cost for my parents, it appears to be cheaper to buy than ro replace their current MH one

Assuming my parents like us, won't be off-gridding, and them not having solar so always on EHU, will it still be ok battery wise?

If on hook up no problem 👍If you/they wanted to do 2 or 3 days off grid then a extra battery would be good 👍

I had a compressor fridge on my last one...3 days off grid no worries plus worked on slopes no issues.... when fitted with 100w panel and MPPT charge unit.... 24/7 365.... When this 3 way goes I won't hesitate to swap out for a compressor fridge.... One thing to consider is keeping batteries in good condition if not on solar...safe travels

Dont mean to be rude but don’t confuse off grid with wild camping. We have a compressor fridge, no problem with being level or not. With the price of electricity and the increasing number of CLs offering option of no hook up or metered electricity, we have swapped our battery for lithium, already have 120 w solar to facilitate more off grip camping, but always on a site (maybe the occasional Brit stop) Just spent three nights on an off grid CL, not a lot of solar, managed fine. Lowest battery dropped was 82%

Our drives on a slope compressor fridge works fine, use between 25 to 30 amp per day when not on hook up, realise factors can change this but that's what I've found with ours average use wise.
First one we've had all good so far.
Kenny.

Adria Compact with a fair amount of solar up top and 2x100 batteries means we are totally independent of EHU for the Thetford T2090 compressor fridge (and other appliances). Only issue I’ve encountered was that the internal drip tray and bung were left in situ despite there being an external condensate drain tube provided! Soon removed and tested though.

Thank you to all who's helped....what a wonderful community
Much appreciated
