Comfortmatic Gearbox Service in Yorkshire

Hi all,is there any garages in Yorkshire area that can service a comfortmatic gearbox on a Fiat Ducato 2013.

If you do a search for comfortmatic you’ll find plenty of post recommending both Logan’s in Carluke and AM in Portsmouth, there have been another few recommendations recently for other areas but unfortunately I can’t remember who or where.

Not Yorkshire but there’s a fiat professional garage (Walton summit truck centre) just of j29 M6 at Bamber bridge, Preston. They’ve just done mine.

Thought it was worth checking. There are so few places that seem to know what they are doing with a Comfortmatic that it is worth highlighting them.

P.S. Have you made any use of Rye Motors, Ashton-in-Makerfield which cannot be very far from you?:

I think their standard of work is what gets them the work, I’ve still to read a bad review about them.

I haven’t used rye motors Ashton is only a couple of miles away. I will take a look at them for its next service though. Mines been looked after at Walton summit since it was new I thought I’d keep it that way when I bought it. Not cheap though

We had a MOT and standard service for our MH, oil & filter change & all levels topped up by Advance Automotive Centre, Hull. They're ex-Fiat commercial technicians and did our cam belt last year and know their stuff.

I have used Calder Valley Motorhomes a number of times. Including a Comformatic service. They appear good to me, I’m booked in for a cam belt and water pump plus another Comformatic service this year.

They’re a commercial garage who do everything specialising vans and trucks. Massive place.
I used to use Calder Valley but found he wanted it for opening time and would ring me an hour before he closed to say it ready but yet he knew I lived further away than that but moan he was staying behind as I was late collecting it. Got fed up taking it in the end. It was always a rush. They did do a courtesy car though. However, I compared costs on one service I had and Auto Tec were a bit cheaper (and nearer) and can drop off day before and collect day after they’ve finished. Never had a problem with Cv’s work though.

When we had a problem with ours we had it done at Fiat professional at Hull, not the oil change service though. Jordan’s also would have done the work but could get it done sooner and less per hour at the other place.

We have a Comfortmatic, when talking to them they said they are able to work on them without a problem and have done so for others. The service included checking the Comfortmatic fluid.

We had a service done in September 2023 by another independent garage and a new slave cylinder (SC) done by Fiat in December 2023 when they replaced all the fluids and reset the systems.

Comformatic confusion continues

I read w it’s interest numerous Funsters recommending changing the clutch fluid, and only to have that carried out at Fiat maindealer garage where they have the necessary diagnostics and appropriate equipment So I just called my nearest Fiat maindealer garage, to arrange an interim service, MOT...

Ah, I get it now. When the time comes to have it done then we'll be taking it to Alliance as they are used to doing it being ex-Fiat technicians who used to work on Comfortmatics. When they left Jordans, the local Fiat dealership, and set up on their own Jordans wouldn't take on any Comfortmatic work for a while as there was no one left who knew what to do.
