Shop around. You may beat it but is it worth the time and hassle to you?

A little cheaper than we have ever paid, lots of factors involved, mileage, location, storage, only vehicle.

Is that for full timing? Sounds a lot if not. If it is, they have the market sewn up, not many insurers are prepared to cover it.

Definitely get some competitive quotes and challenge the renewal quote via phone (especially if sizeable uplift).

Been getting quotes for our 3.5t autocruise, CAMC £480 Inc recovery.

New van (well new to us) Carthargo A class, LHD, will do some research,,
A posh van ::bigsmile: my Rv which I have just renewed was £800 with safeguard, your price sounds about right.

Does the LHD aspect contribute to the premium? We are £405 for RHD 2019 Hymer Exsis-I, kept at home, alarm & tracker etc.

That seems a bit steep, check what rating your postcode is here as I know they use that.

My 2021 Comfort renewal premium was about £2 less than in 2020. :giggle:

PVC costing less than £50k new, and keeping it on the drive in a low crime postcode probably helped.

I had the same from Comfort after being with them for a few years and not really having any increases. I eventually went with CAMC that is done through a firm called Devitts in Romford. They matched the cheapest quote I'd been given and it included recovery too.

We went with camc about £300 less than comfort.

My Comfort renewal (with Aviva) is due September, last year it was £365 including European breakdown cover and kept at home with alarm but no tracker.

I think that the LHD bumps up the premium

Using the link @ bigtree has posted, we're a 'C' postcode. Comfort premium from Oct '20 - Oct '21 is/was £335.16... £270.16 insurance premium & £65 for the Euro breakdown.

We have a Ford chassis, alarm, tracker and the Moho is parked on our driveway in a Cul de Sac.

Comfort insisted on seeing the certificate of installation for the tracker before insuring.

We have LHD and only mention after we have received a quote, has not made any difference to the price, always thought it would but not so far, and that is with most well known and a couple of random insurance brokers.

Pretty sure ours is still with Comfort, 2013 model, £300 + Dave - CV12. Pete's out at a hosp appt in Brum so can't ask him to be certain, but don't think it was wildly different this year to last.

That's much more than I paid for the RV with Business and Towing use!

Seems a little high, ours was £500 just under last year for an A Class Tag Axle but its due for renewal in November so it's going to be more for sure but they were still the cheapest when i shopped around. That was including tracker and thatcham approved alarm so i am sure that might have brought it down a little.

A.I.B. Watch out! Changed our vanlast month.Gave new details to AIB ( policy with Aviva) Paid difference for rest of policy ( end of august renewal) Told them I could not put my cherished number on until DVLA sent new V5. Was told no admin charge from Aviva if done in 14 days. Today after 5 weeks the V5 arrives. A.I.B tell me Aviva admin is £53. I have no option but to register my disgust and pay it. I contact Aviva who say they only charge £23 and wouldn’t probably have charged for “ such a minor change”. Get the same guy at A.I.B who says he never said Aviva charge £53. Apparently I have got it totally wrong. He said £23 for Aviva and £30 for them. We need profit he said. Would I like him to mark my file to say I will not be renewing in August!
I am absolutely astonished at his arrogant attitude. Never had anything but good service before, but this guy has destroyed any faith I had in them. Anybody else come across this?

From 2012 to 2020 our new Bessacarr E580G was covered with Comfort. Alarm, Tracker & Casoa gold storage & 2 drivers With 6k miles. It started about £202 and ended up at about £240 & once no longer covered by Fiat breakdown the full European breakdown for over 3.5t was around £65. No idea what the replacement will be when it arrives but hopefully similar with no claims or points?

We were with Safeguard, when the renewal arrived it had gone up £175, I phoned to ask why and could they find a better price as we had been with them for over 12yrs.
The snotty young lad said that was their best price and as we were getting older the price would go up, his attitude was dreadful, I just said we won't be renewing.
Moved to comfort for less that we have ever paid Safeguard, really helpful and pleasant chap on the phone which made everything so easy.

Two days later we got a call from Safeguard the lady asking why we were not renewing, I told her that the increase in premium was just too much, oh we can match any quote you've had was her reply.
Too late I said, after the way your colleague spoke to me we won't be coming back.

Not entirely sure what's afoot as our renewal a couple of weeks ago from AIB was circa £460 no breakdown as covered by Fiat.
CMC £605 others inc Comfort in between the two.

As car is insured with L&V gave them a call, they don't care about tracker, alarm, etc. quote £315. Asked how so cheap what about tracker etc, No we go on market value, I asked how does that work as (forgive) MH is worth quite a few 10s of £K(2020 Rapido 8096df). Don't care goes on value.
So what about screen cover it's an A class, up to market value (if screen costs more than van written off) The T&Cs say only glass is covered, side windows are plastic. (wait while check with under writer) That's ok it on our MH policy T&Cs.
Can I Have a copy please... Sorry can't issue those.
So went through all the stuff we needed covered (recorded phone call, name & time duly noted) naming all accessories and cost etc etc. Only issue was limited £1K for personal stuff, BUT we also have home contents insurance so all covered.
And
Significantly less cost

Just make sure you mention what you want covered and note time & date of the conversation (if you take legal protection as well, any issues they can sue themselves.

Upshot saved approx £150 this year on last.

Edit, forgot to add they gave me a refund discount on the car policy as I'd gone multicar.

LHD doesn't affect the price with Comfort.
We pay £432 for our B678DL LHD, that includes £65 for breakdown & £12 for Sat & audio cover. So net premium £355.
We did drop the mileage this year to 6k that saved about 20 quid.

Oh dear! Mine's due soon. The trouble with shopping around is that you don't know what the new company is like. Only when you claim. Same goes in some ways with the one you're with. Comfort seem to have had a good reputation, but things can change.
