Having just fitted a personal number on Moho, I emailed Comfort Insurance notifying them of the change. Based on past experience with other insurance companies, I expected "That'll be £35 to change". Comfort changed it and emailed my new documents within the hour. No charge.

Must say, that is impressive. Think I had to pay £25 a couple of years ago, when I changed our registration (not with Comfort).

I've been with Comfort continuously for seven years and just renewed my policy this morning. Competitive, minimal annual premium increases and efficient service. A pleasure to deal with.

I made a claim off Comfort when a Tesco fuel station barrier jumped out at me and ripped a wheel arch trim off. £800+ and Comfort had the repairs authorized within an hour of me emailing the quote over. That's service!
You should have sued Tesco! They have responsibility for their barriers and should have kept it under proper control!;):giggle:

Only a bit. I swear there wasn't a barrier on the pump central reservation when I pulled in! What a daft place to put one anyway...........

Exactly the same level of service with Comfort last week. Very impressed with the speed and ease of repair authorisation

They annoyed me at my renewal. I asked for a quote for a higher mileage which I accepted but when I came to pay they said they would not honour it as they had made a mistake. The difference was £15. Not worth annoying a customer for and next year I will look elsewhere.

Just had my renewal from Comfort, another annual increase of
5% same story last year. We have done less than 100 miles since January and I'm sure we are not the only ones.
How is it some people claim theirs has hardly changed year on
year?. Comfort always blame the rise on increase in claims and I'll bet they will say the same this year.
Really I think we should have been seeing a reduction this year.

Yep Comfort will not charge you for this change as long as you send the info in by email. If you phone them to arrange the change they will charge you £20.

I started with Comfort in 2017, as that was the best deal I could get. In 2020 my premium is £8 less than I paid back in 2017 for exactly the same cover on the same motorhome. I really can't complain at that.

Looks like I'm paying your increase aswell as my own😥
I'm going to have to buy an Hymer.

Do they ask what milage is on the MH when you renew & do you have send proof to them ?

Comfort has always beat other quotes by miles. I remember our first Motorhome over 8 years ago and they beat other major names by £400 or more. 3 years ago bought new Burstner, yes the tracker was compulsory but with reduced mileage this year we paid about £260 which for the value of the vehicle I don’t begrudge paying. All communication has always been easy, friendly and helpful. Not worth shopping around...would always recommend Comfort.

Yes I thought that was a little bizarre as I reduced our mileage this year & saved £60 but realised after they haven’t asked what the mileage currently is .... we had it from new 3 years ago so now due it’s first M.O.T!!

They don’t need to. Vehicles that are MOTed have this info on DVLA database, easily checked.
Not going to them a lot of good unless the MOT dates coincide with the insurance renewal dates. Mine don't.

Put a personal plate on the last van, no charge from Comfort.
Uprated the last van no charge from Comfort.
Fitted air suspension to current van, again no charge.
Premium only ever goes up by a few quid each year and had it come down a couple of times, also didn't go up after a claim.

peterc10 all changes made by phone but they did charge admin fee when I increased the mileage, I'll try emailing if I have to do it again.

Had a discussion with them when I renewed my insurance last month, as I was thinking of putting my private plate after renewal. They specifically said that the charge would by £20 (or may have been £25) if I did it by phone, but free if by email.

However I have decided to delay putting the plate on until the DVLA moves out of hibernation and returns to its normal level of incompetence.

Well Peter with your luck with Comfort they'll probably give you £20 when you put your private reg on.;)

We’re with comfort and I’m just reading that we should have a tracking device fitted that is updated every year?
Anyone throw light on this ? We have the certificate

I'm still waiting for a licence applied on 4th May, it ran out on 31st May.

Also with comfort did you have to have updated tracker? Or is that only for vehicles over certain price?

From memory the tracker is only needed for motorhomes worth over £70k, but that figure may have changed by now.
