What is everyone using to clean the plastic components in the shower/wc/ washbasin . Mine are getting a bit tired and dont want to use some chemical that might melt them. Thetford not even replied to my enquiry. Thanks in advance

Personally I use Thetford Bathroom cleaner, by no means will it rejuvenate anything but they manufacture it for their products so should know what they are doing.
I've heard some woeful tales over the years of cracking, splitting sinks and shower trays.

Yes I agree 100%
Many will advise that this product or that product will do the exact same job at half the price... maybe it will... maybe it won't.
I for one not prepared to take the risk and will gladly pay extra for the manufacturers approved cleaner.
I too use Thetford Bathroom and toilet cleaners.

Cleaning off crud is one thing, but yellowing of plastic items is whole different ball game, to which I really dont have an answer.
Especially all those flaps for water, Gas, ehu etc on the outside of the van, they seem to deteriorate after the 2 year warranty has expired, turning matt, the going off colour, you see it happening on most vans.
I would second the use of Thetford bathroom & toilet cleaner, but I guess it depends on how bad the problem is, I also use the clear anti bacterial spray when on travels, cos I like the smell of cleanliness.:giggle:
I now close the bathroom roof light blind when the van is stored just in case, no problems yet, but belt & braces from my perspective.

This is a good topic to explore. I tend to use Autoglyn products since getting a 'free' offer from 3m's magazine. It would be quite interesting to learn what the dealers use. When I bought my last car, the lady who cleaned their cars gave me a car polish "only available to the trade" and it is very good. Having a new windscreen fitted, I noticed they cleaned it before fitting and afterwards, I asked them what they used and was told the product is not available to the public (i.e, Me). I realise car polishes, never tested by Which magazine, can be personal or with some detailers, fanatical but I would still like to know what is best for my van.

OP is referring to Internal shower/basin/toilet plastics....Not external plastics.!!!

It's still plastic and still yellowed by the same process of UV from sunlight reacting with the free radicals in bromide which is used in the production of plastic whether it be plastic in the van or external.

Edit : Opps, dived in without checking and now realise that this is not the re-whitening yellowed plastic thread from the other day.
