Hi all
Just wondered what cleanser is best for the freshwater tank. You have probably experienced that 1 st cup of tea or coffee and ..😩 tastes yakky.

Thanks in anticipation..

Milton. 20mls. Fill tank. Leave overnight. Drain. Done

I know the tank should be used for fresh water. We always use a separate container (5L water bottle or similar) for drinking water. Refilling with campsite tap water as reqd.

Always best to use fresh drawn water whenever you can. We use the tank water when there is no other option.
Water sitting in a tank warms and loses dissolved oxygen making it taste flat. Also if the tap water has a high level of chlorine, this can lead to earthy tastes. Not harmful but not the best cuppa

This is one of those questions whereby people want or need to impress their system of cleaning the fresh water tank. Lots say don’t use Milton, others not to use vinegar etc. I find puriclean excellent as a product to pop in periodically once the deep cleaning is done, as it’s designed to keep the water fresh and drinkable if wanted, but don’t overdose as it can taste and smell of chlorine if you did.

If you search for the other threads, there’s loads of guidance to go by. Personally I use food grade citric acid, but others don’t like it. Have a look and a read and see what’s going to meet your requirements and what will keep you happy.

Good luck.
