Travelling down to Spain in the next week, was wondering if anyone has stayed at City de Europe overnight recently.
Is it still ok is their any problem with the undesirables

Last stopped there about three weeks ago.
We use it multiple times each year and have never had or seen any problems.
Just take the usual precautions, set the alarm etc. and you will be fine. I always park in the middle of the car park and not close up to the trees. If you've been there when the gales are blowing up the channel you would know why without worrying about undesirables lurking in them.

Richard.

We stayed there on the 28th Dec and there were 5/6 travellers in Caravans at the end nearest the entrance - they didn't bother anyone tho.

Had my palm read and bought some pegs (y)

As stated by Simon Richardson no problems when we were there a week ago

Like others say, we have stayed there many times and never seen any problems. Overlooked by a Police Station and there are frequent security patrols.

Where do these rumours about Cite Europe being a problem start???? Never been a problem / never seen a problem / in over 6 years.

What do you mean by undesirables?
Last time I was there I only saw one MHF sticker
- and that was mine.

This question is put to MHF time and time again and the answer is the same, one of the best and most secure stops in Northern France. Common sense should still be activated no matter where you are, hide documents, secure your vehicle and you will be fine. The only undesirables we have come across in the dozen or more times of travelling to and from Cite Europe are some of the slobby British tourists in the adjacent Carrefour Supermarket :(

for balance do not forget there are about 15,000 other supermarket parking options all over France

I have used Cite de Europe but still don't see the attraction, apart from maybe coming off a train in the dark and parking for a few hours before carrying on (y)

We were going to stay there also on 28th arrived about 10:30 saw the caravans and drove onto watten instead. We have stayed there numerous times due to the convenience, but always take the view if not comfortable we just move on.

That’s exactly the attraction, well, it is for us anyway.

Don't go there, every time we have been there undesirable folk turn up, they all seem to have little yellow smiley stickers on the windscreens and want to party all night.
Cheers
Ed

I stayed there Tuesday evening (4days ago) Were only about 4 vans there.
No issues whatsoever, no noise, no Syrian children, no problem!

You haven't but I have last year I would have said no problem. But this year I witnessed wronguns trying to get a free ride. @tacr2man was the victim so it's not a story of I heard this from bloke down pub. So please be vigilant people.
I would use it again if I crossed late at night and wanted to get cracking early but it is pretty noisy tbh.

Wissant's only just down the road, very quiet as off the autoroute but easy to find so would be my first choice.

And that beach is first choice of the illegal boat refugees now.

How do they know which way you are going?
Have they seen them loading up with wine from Carrefour and drawn their conclusion that they must be heading home?

When they give me £1500 cash I tell them I am taking them to UK for £2000 grand I actualy do take them home for that they get a bottle of wine and 1 extra bungee for the axle. The next one's I'll drop at your house then you may believe me.

It's happening they will try anything to get to UK just because some haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not.

I know the perfect void under my van behind the grey water tank, that with a truck strap you could hang there happily. But I always take quick look at the check of the gas bottle. I even pointed it out to a security chap who had just searched the whole van. Hopefully he remembers.

Wasn't when I stayed there a while ago. The buses started up at about 6am and warmed up their diesel engines for 20 minutes or so. Not been back since I am afraid.

I was cuddling my Teddy Bear at that time of night! o_O

I don’t think the buses are there anymore, or at least they weren’t there when we stayed there in October and early in December.
As for migrants using the beach at Wissant, we’ll, it’s never happened has it, it’s just Sky News ( as usual) trying to make a story out of nothing.
