We sold our van last month so now on the lookout for a new one, choice's up here are limited so we're heading down south or north to all you south of Watford   . We've booked next Friday off work and plan on heading down Thursday night so we're up early to start our viewings.

We've spoke with some dealers regarding some vans and although we don't have a dead cert on make or model it must have single beds over garage.

Here's a list of some makes we'll be looking at so please feel free to give your opinion on them.
Euramobil
Knaus
Hymer Exiss and T models
Carado I know its Hymer but is it the same structure
Burnster Lesyo Harmony LTD
Laika
Adria we had one before and liked it, have read some bad reviews on them lately though
Dethleffs

We would like to stay with in our budget of £65K but could stretch it for the special one

Carado I believe are built in a different factory and not quite to the same standard of equipment.

We looked inside a number of Corados at our N&B Hymer dealer and they’re nothing like a Hymer

i thought carardo are the Dethleffs budget version.
we’ve had a Dethleffs and was pleased with the quality however the Toscana hobby we have is better. To give an idea of level. Isn’t the association because Hymer bought out Dethleffs

Sounds to me that you are in too much of a rush to cover that selection.

you've lost me with this, the reason I've listed the above is due to them being available to view. If we don't find something thats satisfactory then we'll keep looking, possibly even head over to Germany again.

We looked at a Dethleffs Espirt a few weeks ago and thought it was decent quality but unfortunately it was the comfort model so low beds which result in low garage so couldn't fit bikes.

Feel free to tell me about your Hobby as the above list isn't final just what we've seen online and liked.

It’s a 69gj Toscana. Transverse double at back with large garage underneath. Lots of head clearance for sitting up in bed. Electric bed over seating area at front. However, that does mean no sitting room if both beds in use. bathroom, shower toilet combined, shower screen prevents rest of bathroom getting wet but a bit tight. Decent storage in there with shelving and cupboards. Reasonable kitchen with 3 burner hob sink. Then additional seatbelt seats x two, when in use you remove a small cushion or legs or leave in place to make bench seat quite long. Long seat opposite

Only thing that doesn’t suit is the bed, apart from that sounds a nice van

Have a look at the Hymer B/DL models we have a B678DL and find it very workable they do shorter versions? you’ll probably only get used ones no as line discontinued we had a Exsis but didn’t have the storage and also had stepped floor I believe the new ones are better though? good hunting

Know a guy who traded in his old Laika for a new Hymer.

Regretted the change as the Laika was much better built and his new Hymer leaked repeatedly.

Good luck with the search

Recently purchased a Hymer TSL708 from Travelworld Stafford which we are delighted with, wrong layout for you but I did see they
had a newTSL704 which is similar but has single beds and a very high spec. It’s above your ideal budget but as it’s a 2019 discontinued model there’s a deal to be done. Having a Bailey previously this is in a different league quality wise.

What about a Carthago

We looked at a 2018 model 2 weeks ago with less than 10k on the clock but the previous owner had removed stuff and just left holes in the furniture which ruined it for us.

That hasn’t put us off though the list was just a starting point and I put some vans on it we like the look of but know little about

We took a look at an A class Pilote in Signature in Preston whilst we were down. I have no idea how Pilote stack up against other males but it was a thing of great beauty and airy spaciousness and within hitting distance of your budget.

Pilote is a good brand. Well built and nicely designed

How far south are you travelling? We looked at Burstner at Becks in Norfolk Before we bought ours ( in France). Very impressed with it.
This seems to fit the bill for you...

It is a nice looking van, unfortunately the payload seems limited at 3.5t. Not a problem if you can uprate or buy heavier chassis I guess.

N&B do a very nice compact van Smove - looked very well put together with lots of clever features inside.

Probably outside our budget but have to say the ones I’ve looked at I haven’t liked although they are quality
