Hi, we’re calling into Cheltenham today for a nosey around. Anyone know where is good for day parking for a Motorhome please,
Thanks

There's a park and ride with lots of space by the race course.
North Place (near the A46) has an outdoor NCP. I've seen motorhomes in there but the entrance can be a little tight.

For future info, helpful guy from the council suggests Chelt Walk car park next to Bayswater pub. Apparently you only have to pay for one bay.
We tried both P&R’s (Arle Court and Racecourse) and both have 2.1m height restrictions 🤬🤬

Our daugter lives by the car park near the Bayswater pub. Stayed there daytime only loads of times. Easy walk into Cheltenham and good walk off lead for the dogs on the Honeybourne adjacent to the carpark. Big Waitrose nearby too

That’s useful to know. We were a bit peed off that the HUGE P&R car park at the racecourse had height barriers but the guy from the council was really helpful.
As it turned out we carried on to Tewkesbury for the afternoon, easy parking at the bowling club (next to C&MC site),in town and £2 for 3 hours. Think you can stay over as well 👍

I didn't know about the height barriers at the racecourse P&R either.

They do have a lot of trouble with travellers down that way so not hugely surprised.

If you can get in early doors our old approach road is good for quite on street parking.

GL537RP 😊

Used to get one or two covert full timers along there.

Walking distance to town as well.

I use Cheltenham racecourse site regularly, the height barriers into the P&R were fitted about 2 or 3 years ago, following an incursion by travellers onto the racecourse land.

Yes I can understand that, it’s just a shame.

Thanks, worth bearing in mind. 👍
