I'm looking to build a folding shelf in our Chausson and I'd really like to get the same woodgrain effect as Chausson have used. Anyone know who might stock it ? Not going to try Chausson as it is such a small amount.

I need a piece 400mm x 200mm x 15mm thick. It's slightly more brownish than the photos suggest.

Places like kitchen door workshop will have something close and you can get free samples to get the colour match (from memory I think you pay postage)

Then just order a door and cut it or a bespoke size fully edged.

Good luck....

Im onto my fourth lot of samples trying to get something remotely similar for my Best of...and I only want the iron on edging to replace some above the grill. ?

Admittedly I am a bit fussy?

Campervan converters carry stocks of all colours in lightweight Vohringer wood.
Google a search for your local area.

Have you thought of some stainless steel strip - I'm assuming its heat damage

I have thought about a few options....and I do have some stainless steel banding that is almost perfect width, I’m just not sure about fixing it and if I’d be happy with the result.

Yeah I’m presuming it’s was heat that melted the original iron on edging glue....Tho I have never used the grill (read that as bread bin).

Try a Chausson dealer as they my have internal door or panel knocking about from warranty work carried out.
Don't worry about the thickness as you can make that up. I wanted to make a new microwave surround and l could only get 3mm wall board with the same woodgrain, soI laminated up a couple of layers to get the thickness in needed.

I don't have any matching in my shed, but maybe Terry has an offcut?

I had various stains \ coloured varnishes kicking about and mixed them in varying quantities until I got a very close match. Then just used an off-cut of ply with the stain.
Having said that, sometimes it's better having a complete contrast in colour particularly on something like a folding shelf as it will look like it's meant to be a different colour.

Hi I have a couple of off cuts, Maple, Driftwood and a couple of other's.
If you know what is used ?
I broke my phone the other day so now using my old one from about 3 yrs ago and it's not showing red colours so the pics are grey on here :(:giggle::(
BTW agree with Gellyneck

It's certainly not Maple, it's a sort of brownish but leaning towards a grey brownish. No help at all that first sentence I know, but the best I can do.

A few minutes on google and it looks like Chausson call it Rijeka

Could just be the image.....but that looks a bit light to me.

but it can be very deceiving

Both of these two pictures were taken of mine of the same panel seconds apart and they look nothing alike (and I’m sure my van interior is exactly the same as the OP)

I think ours looks like the right hand photo of the three above.
