Chausson 630 Welcome
Has anyone experienced failure to start issues with Chausson 630 welcome on Ford Chassis. Ours has been in secure parking through lockdown. The cab battery was very low but wouldn’t start with either jump leads or with remote heavy duty battery. ??

Probably but I don't think it would have made the news 😁

Possibly in the wrong forum

If the battery had got really low it can confuse the immobiliser. I would try getting some charge into the battery, then try a full lock of the vehicle, leave it a while then unlock and try to start. Does it have a immobiliser light that flashes to tell you what state it’s in?

Jim can you move this to correct area for the OP.

If it has been standing for a long time without being charged up by EHU or solar the battery will probably be dead and will need replacing.
It should still start from a jump start from another vehicle, assuming the jump leads were left connected with the donar vehicle running for 10-15 minutes before trying to start it.

Clarification required ...when you say it wont start do you mean

A) when you turn the key there is nothing just a click

Or

B) it turns over but will not fire up.

Our neighbour has a Chausson on a Ford chassis. He has had quite a few problems with starting and “lumpy” running, eventually traced to faulty injectors, part of a bad batch.

We have this van also. It's the second Chausson we have had on the Ford 170 hp 2.0 diesel engine and Both have had injector failures. The first gave up 100 yards from home and Green Flag said that there were no faults logged, when they recovered it to Ford, it needed 1 new injector. No problems after that and we traded it in later on for the Welcome trim. The second one started giving severe vibration problems at about 2000 RPM and then went into limp mode on the A30 which is not a great road to have to pull over into the storm drain gulleys. Managed to make it the campsite and we will now be calling out Green Flag again to get us home tomorrow before getting it into Ford again. My cheap ebay OBDII reader shows that 'No 1 injector is either short or open circuit' but there is no engine warning light on. Neither van was listed as needing the injector recall from Ford so I think that there is more than Ford are saying here. Very disappointing as the Ford is a lovely drive especially on the automatic box. Just wish the vans would run for long enough to enjoy them.

Charge battery, close all doors and bonnet. Lock then unlock and try to start it
