Got the above bbq. Didnt want to cart a extra bottle of patio gas around so arranged to have bbq point fitted on the moho. All fiited ok bbq wont light. Youtube says it wont work because you now have two regulators! Any ideas ? By the way still works off patio gas bottle.

The BBQ point will be running at 35mbar, so should run direct to BBQ without an additional regulator (it’s how I run my Cadac)

Are you using a regulator on the propane bottle as it looks to me like your bbq already has a regulator that you control your flame with and that takes un-regulated gas pressure from your patio gas bottle.
If it is using gas straight from your patio gas bottle, then when you hook it up to your van bbq point that is already regulated down to 30mbar then it is double regulated and so not enough pressure as the regulator on the bbq is strangling the already reduced gas pressure.

Yes i am trying to run from moho propane bottles but it attaches to the bbq via its own regulator . This has its own attachment that connects on a half turn no way to directly fit gas hose to it.

It's looking like your best option is to flog it or keep it for home use and get yourself a bbq that runs on a 30mbar gas input. (y)

Looks like you will need to carry a bottle for the bbq or ditch it and get one that works ok from a regulated source 🥃

What gas supply do you have..?
Bottles or underslung.
If bottles and you have 2 you could get extra regulater and fit BBQ straight on spare bottle.

As Jockaneezer said above. There is a hose which will screw on where small gas canisters screw on that then attaches to your gas source.

Yes it is connected that way so got two regulators. Cant see a way around it no way to connect the gas hose directly to the bbq unless charbroil make one.

Charbroil do there own hose for it.

You would still have two regulators but they must be happy it would work. Are you sure your external gas point is turned on?
I have that attachment that connects to the regulator in the bbq which is also the control knob. The other end fits on a patio gas bottle so only one regulator.
The gas is on you get a tiny amount of gas but not enough to stay lit.

I have contacted Charbroil but think its a non starter so will need another bbq.
Any ideas compact one that runs directly off outdoor bbq point perhaps weber ?

Not sure that will work because if I understand what you said you will loose the knob to adjust the gas flow.
That's a good point actually, you could fit a small valve onto the hose, but that's starting to complicate things a bit, depending on your confidence/ability ?

Does yours look like this with the little bottle on the side ?
If so, you just need to unscrew the regulator/gas bottle fitting from the short brass stub shaft and fit the orange hose onto the short stub that's sticking out, that should get it working.

Charbroil do there own hose for it.

I don’t think it’s that easy.

Looking at the manufacturers instructions show that the combined control valve/regulator is a unique quick release fitting that doesn’t look to be compatible with any other generic BBQ connectors.

Looks like new BBQ required.

You need to be careful when selecting one as many are designed to run off a 37mb supply and your MoHo regulator may well be 30mb.

AFAIK many, if not all, of the Weber models sold for U.K. use are designed for 37mb (there was a recent thread running that highlighted the issues) so it’s worthwhile confirming before purchase.

FWIW I have a Napoleon TravelQ 285 PRO (with the scissor cart) and the rating plate confirms it is designed for a 30mb supply.

You will need to remove the bbq regulator and fit an adapter between the metal flex hose to the burner and propane hose connector.

also make sure you firmly secure the adapter so the metal felty isn’t kinked or strained. Secured mine to the minin gas cartridge support using cable ties.

remember the threads are all left handed.

Edit……
just thinking about it, how did you manage to on next a hose to the regulator input from the gas cartridges.???????

I use a Cadac foldable thing, works well off the BBQ point

Is that on a Charbroil X200?

Looking at the relevant page from the owners manual I linked above, it doesn’t appear to have a flexible hose or compatible L/H thread fitting to connect to. The combined adjustment valve/regulator and it’s connection looks to be specific to their appliance.

When i bought it i bought the adapter for patio gas. I no longer want to cart the gas bottle around.
So googled it and it works off propane. Had and outdoor gas point fitted and hey ho it doesn’t work. Works off propane but seems to be the disposable bottles only. Probably my fault so i am now in the market for another bbq that works off propane from outside bbq point on moho.

Simon Meadwell, just had a rummage in my spares box and found this valve. If you wanted to post me the burner section (the part unclips as in section A in the diagram above) I'd be happy to remove the inbuilt regulator and fit this valve with a hose tail for your propane rubber hose foc for you ?

Hi there! You're not alone, we made exactly the same mistake by buying the Weber "Go Anywhere Gas BBQ"! As for your BBQ, the Go Anywhere BBQ had an inbuilt gas regulator, that couldn't be removed (or should I say that we didn't want to go down the workarounds on YouTube!).
We had only used it a few times (connected directly to a small gas bottle), so we gave it a thorough clean and sold it on eBay (as Used) for the same we paid for it. Then we bought a Cadac Grillo Chef 2. They're like Marmite, but we are really pleased with ours, it cooks really well, doesn't go out, and with the washable BBQ mats bought online, is easy to clean! 😊

Did you ever get a reply from Charbroil. Thinking of one of these but fortunately I found your thread before I ordered.

Hi no reply off Charbroil they wont commit to their wrong info. I have given up and bought a camping gas grill that works off small cartridges. I use the charbroil at home a waste of money really their info is misleading.
