Quick question.
If I'm working on / swapping my leisure batteries and they are connected to my victron MPPT solar controller, is it sufficient to remove the fuse from the solar controller to disconnect the panels from the battery?

And likewise, when reconnecting the battery etc, I understand the battery should be connected to the MPPT first, then the PV panels. Is connecting the battery, followed by replacing the fuse sufficient?

The MPPT is awkward to get to, but the fuse is accessible

I removed the fuse but also covered up the solar panels as well.

Best not to disconnect the solar whilst under load so cover or disconnect at night.

I can reach the terminals on the MPPT, so can remove them if necessary and cover with electric tape. Refitting is more awkward and means removing the MPPT to manipulate the cables before refitting.
Not impossible, just awkward

The fuse appears to kill the solar input, but as far as I can gather the Victron MPPT stillness appears to be powered on asked it is receiving power from the battery

But I'm sure there will be an inline fuse at the battery end of the MPPT cable

I just unplugged my solar controller from the EBL when I changed mine.

if it kills the MPPT then that ok, as the battery connection will be just that....12v which can be disconnected at either end, but battery end in your case to replace them.
rememebr to reconnect the battey first though as you said.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
I just covered the solar panel, pulled the fuse, swapped the batteries over and voila job done.
