Changing insurers when abroad

Sod’s Laws that our renewal occurs when we are abroad and not sure if I can be arsed with the hassle of getting a quote done (as the renewal will also be sent out when abroad , getting hold of no claim certs etc and calling the uk from abroad to organise it .why they can’t quote 6 weeks from renewal I do not know

We do everything online. Policy documents, renewals and NCD proof all downloaded. We’ve done a renewal with a different insurer while we’ve been away and it was easy. Switch from physical documents to online.

Do not tell the insurance that you are out of UK, I know that AIB won't issue a new policy or changes to existing if you are not in UK.
Your address is in UK, as StillGoing said do all documents online.
Phoning from Europe with a UK number keeps everyone happy.
We had exactly this problem.
As the Americans say " Don't ask, Don't tell."

As said don't even think of mentioning you are out the Uk as some will refuse on the spot & you'll be left uninsured

No it doesn't .they can still tell as it comes up "international" on their landlines
