and are passing on the 5% VAT "discount". Are C&CC doing likewise (I don't know so it's a serious question not a dig)?By contrast, CMC rather cleverly offered 20% off vouchers during the lockdown. Money in the bank.
Are C&CC doing likewise?C&MC are giving back the reduction in VAT, which is from 20% down to 5%. This in effect is a reduction on their stated prices of 12.5%
£100 + 20% = £120
£100 + 5% = £105
So if the stated price is £120 - 12.5% = £105
Can’t find a pitch for love nor money. So not sure why people think they’re panicking.
They’re probably obliged to give the VAT discount.
Hence my previous question.I don't think so. It is for individual businesses to decide whether to pass them on or not.
many C&CC sites are not opening this year
Yes, must say I've been a bit disappointed by how CCC have been handling the crisis from a member perspective. We are also members of CMC, but I haven't really been following them so closely....and lots of those that are open, are opening without facilities. It all seems a bit naff. It wouldn't be so bad but it's such a big contrast with the CMC. I think that when things are a bit more stable, they need to take a long hard look at their management.
this is from their FAQ'sAre C&CC doing likewise?
No, but, you can book the discount days and non discount days seperatly. There always sending me emails about discounts most only apply during the week and don’t count if you include a weekend
Quite a lot of poetic licence with some sites, average of between 6 and 10 miles from the named place we found! ( Apart from Barnard Castle but had to undergo a mini Krypton Factor to get into town, must have mis read the map there, need to get my eyes checked, anyone know a good optician in Barnard Castle by any chance?)C&CC appear to have some sites, especially mid week, under occupied. Even some weekend spots. But these are concentrated where they have closed the toilet/shower blocks. Available pitches are mostly grass, so aimed at tenters who won't have their own facilities.
A lot of the C&CC sites can be misleadingly named, in terms of location, and are actually quite remote from towns and villages they supposedly serve. That again will affect some of the choices people make in choosing sites.
I expect the sites near sea and similar are fully booked.
