When I was in the UK in November I took my van back to the IH factory for a hab check and service and to pick up some warranty issues, one of which was the external temperature sensor not working.
They weren't able to fix it as the part wasn't in stock so I left it as it's easy to learn the outside temperature by sticking a body part out a window!
Since then however, the interior temperature sensor has also failed - showing 0.0 degrees all the time, and I was woken 8n the middle of the night to much beeping a couple of nights ago.
Turned out both water tank sensors had failed so I was being told I had no fresh water and a full grey water tank.
My quick fix has been to unplug both sensors on the distribution board to cut down the b**dy beeping, but has anyone experienced anything similar and might help me identify what's going on here?
Four sensors 'failing' in a short time makes me think they are not at fault and the problem lies elsewhere.

Nothing? Anyone? Usually these sort of posts at least generate some 'me too' traffic.

It seems to be good and bad news as nobody else seems to have your fault and none of the experts have come forward to pinpoint a collective problem. I assume that IH will get the part (s) in stock and should be your next line of enquiry. Good luck and please keep us informed.

Maybe, maybe not.

If they all failed at the same time you'd be 99.9% certain.

But one after another, not so sure. Something like a faulty power supply could be frying them one after another.

Crude dip stick water sensors are notoriously unreliable as they get tarnished, though yours sound relatively new.

But temperature sensors, so simple and rugged should outlast the vehicle.

On our IH the temperature sensors work but they are wired the wrong way round.

If they are to be believed it is always warmer outside on a cold night.

It's never bothered me so have not worried about getting it fixed.

We have not had any problems with the water sensors.

I've not got anything definite to add here, but it sounds like a developing problem on the control board. Some bad connections, or badly soldered connections (dry joints) that are now going faulty one by one. Or even something like mice chewing the wires.

Could be a bad batch of sensors, if water gets in them it sends the reading off.

Thanks all for the replies. Mice, no way, all cables are intact & the litte buggers get poisoned before they get anywhere near the van.
The water sensors both packed up at the same time. Now, even with them both disconnected at the distribution board, the control panel still emits an occasional 'bip' as it mostly thinks the grey water tank is full - then it's not - then it is. And that's with no signal coming to it!
My thinking leans towards the control panel itself. Have read that these can overheat and need to be reset, also seen that their operation can be improved by cleaning with compressed air.
I don't think IH still fit the CBE200 as there's now a updated version available so if it's the panel I may need to find a repairer - it's not a stock version but 'customised' and bigger

If you suspect the control unit may be at fault, Apuljack Engineering do a repair/refurb service on them, they did a good job of fixing my Reich controller.

Thank you for that lead. Sounds like they may well be getting a call.
