Hi
After we bought our used Carthago CL138 we've realised that the original sink plug or basket strainer is missing. It's a SMEV waste and looks to have 4 slots to take a bayonet fit rotating basket. However we've not sure what it should have and what to order as a replacement. Would anyone with a Carthago CL138 mind taking a look at what they have?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jackd. Many thanks for the helpful reply. Must admit to wincing at the price for one though…

I tried to replace ours last year after it broke, and struggled to find one. The e-bay one shows as out of stock- and is also £35 for what is a pretty flimsy bit of plastic!
In the end we got a silicone collapsible washing up bowl, and a Tala stainless steel sink strainer - doesn’t act as a plug, but is more effective at sieving the washing up water than the original.

You’re very welcome. I know what you mean on the price though. What makes it worse is the fact it’s plastic! Ouch 😣

Cheaper in Germany only €28

Seeing the plating is coming off the waste anyway you can buy the whole assembly for around 70 quid I think Leisure Shop Direct stock them.

Another one of Dometic's crap products.

Hi Solwaybuggier
We also went with a collapsible silicone bowl as what we thought would be a temporary solution. Adding a Tala strainer might end up as our long term solution too. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Lenny HB, I agree. A new (or different) waste would be better value.

We took ours out because we hated it and replaced it with an ordinary plug hole.
