Caravan guard Insurance. Any good (1 Viewer)

Just getting a few quotes in for renewal of Insurance. Anyone had experience of using this company. Including breakdown cover.Looked at Google reviews and mixed reviews. Im with comfort Insurance which is quoting £390 this year .only a small increase but caravan guard nearly £100 cheaper. I know cheap isn't always the best.But wondering if any funsters have experienced of them.

They have been very good for me. Their breakdown cover sorted us out quickly when we had a fuel pump leak at sangatte in France, the garage we were taken to butchered our fuel lines when providing a temp fix so Caravan Guard also paid for the repairs to the damage done by the French garage. No quibbles, just got on and sorted everything out for us despite only anecdotal evidence from our UK garage. I’ll definitely be sticking with them.

I found caravan guard less helpful and less friendly than comfort. Nothing much but I’ll stay with comfort.

I’ve been with them since 2020 and no problems at all, premium very competitive and staff are very friendly on the phone and helpful.

We have been with Caravan Guard for a couple of years, but have never needed to use them. However, on the breakdown cover, be aware that home (or place of storage) start isn’t included, but payable per use.

When we broke down in rural Sweden Caravanguard organised for the van to be put on a rescue truck and taken to a garage that was able to sort the problem on the same day. Excellent service from their staff in handling European breakdown call centre. Can’t fault them.

Been with caravan guard since 2007, my first van was band new and with under 300 mile on the clock it was written off in an accident, Caravan guard sourced a replacement which was on the new X250 as they couldn't get one from the previous model so a result there. The replacement came with the same extras that the old one had fitted. They have always been competitive so never needed to change.

They've been expensive for me compared with Comfort but I've no experience of their service.

Been with them for five years, just renewed again, been very good on price for us, never been able to beat it.
Broke down a couple of years ago, they had a local garage to us within 40 mins, he sorted the problem and we were on our way again 20 mins later. Could even track the location of the mechanic as he was on his way to us.
Always had good service when altering or amending our policy.
Faultless service so far!

They were very helpful when a gust of wind ripped the awning off the van when in the French alps. Sorted it all out and arranged for a new one to be fitted. No problems. You only find out if your insurance company are any use when you claim.

Been with them since 2005. Never had a problem with them and always friendly and first class customer service.

Only ever had small premium increases each year, so never had reason to change from them.

The proved to be very helpful when our caravan was written off on of one of our new "Smart" motorways. Paid up for full replacement.
