3 years 30,000 miles UK and Europe.. Campsites and off Grid.
Looking at booking crossings for France in June (Le Man 24 hour race).

I used Irish ferries Dover to Calais crossing earlier this year and quite liked them, particularly as they were the cheapest. However, trying to look at crossings now and there is not possible to book on Irish Ferries beyond 23rd Jan.

I know I could look at other options but wondered if anyone knows why they are not taking bookings?

Maybe I'm missing some info but is there any reason why you can't phone them and ask?

Because I don't do phones to big companies unless absolutely necessary. All those Menus and waiting. Just wondered if anyone knew. It's not urgent.

Soon available to book.
Rec' this from Irish Ferries today.........

I'm afraid our fares are only available for travel up to the 23rd of January 2022.

We hope to have our fares available within the next week.

Please keep an eye on our website for the latest updates on this.

If you wish you can sign up to hear of our latest offers.

Just got that myself. Seems odd??? Mine said 'later in the month' It's not long until 23rd. I'm surprised. I wonder if they are having problems or considering their options in these disrupted times.

Is there any more news on Irish Ferry bookings from Dover to Calais? You can only book to April at the moment which isn't much use for most od us.

I emailed them 2 days ago to ask. I'll let you know when they get back to me.

It is odd. They must be losing a lot of summer brookings.

Irish ferries have just got back to me. They say they expect bookings will be opened in the next couple of weeks.

Which in effect really means wait and see.

Are they waiting for fuel prices to stabilise I wonder?
Ferry companies normally forward book their fuel by many months.
It sounds more like they were not prepared to pay the price for forward booking their fuel.
The price has now gone through the roof.
I doubt any of the usual players will be taking hedge prices at sensible levels for forward booked bunkers into the summer, the market is so volatile

Irish Ferries summer bookings now open.
