Morning everyone, I should have been on a ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe on Wednesday (travelling with 3 other MHFunsters), however, I did a test this morning before travelling down from Yorkshire and am Covid Positive. Naturally, fed up, to say the least. Anyway, I have rebooked for next Wednesday 2nd February, and wondered if anyone else is on the 10am crossing? I've always used Eurotunnel so was looking forward to having some company on the journey. This will be my 3rd attempt to reach sunnier climes, so if it fails, I will give up and stay in Blighty.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy day.

Oh, that's the pits sorry to hear that ,trust you are not unwell and that the +ve test is just that.
Have you tried to do another ,just to recheck?

Thanks Jim, No, I haven't. I did the test because I have been coughing all night and felt exhausted, although I put the exhaustion down to a week of rushing around preparing to go. I will do another one though, just to check. Other than the cough, a slight headache, a sniffle and being tired, I feel ok.

That is such a pain, it is a lot of work preparing to go, not to mention the exitement.

We are off on sunday hopefully but am anxious about the test the day before.

From the UK gov website.make sure you check the entry conditions ,I just read this. I think if you tested positive are you a confirmed case? Sorry if this effects your travel plans.

Yes ,getting ready for a trip can cause issues ,what with all the current procedures and requirements, rules and regulations you have to review it's a stressful undertaking,so hopefully you are just a bit run down.
Relax
,Do another test .
Best of luck. (y)

Sorry to hear that Julie S
Things are slowly getting easier but when you need to test the day or so before travel its a bit nerve racking.
We had a flight last week and had flow tests at the airport
Were very twitchy till the results came through

Sorry no practical help Julie, but hope you have an exceptional holiday to make up for it. Xxx

What bad luck!

If you have symptoms and had a positive Lateral Flow Test then you are supposed to take a PCR test. I had symptoms on 30th December, went for local drive-through PCR test on 31st, which was positive. At that point the record of my three vaccinations disappeared from the NHS App on my phone. On 10th January the record of the vaccinations automatically returned together with a fourth QR code stating that I was Recovered from Covid. As a result I was able to go on my planned skiing holiday on 15th January.

The advantage in getting an official positive PCR test is that after 10 days you get official recovered status, and do not have to take another PCR test for 90 days, (since it is possible to test positive on a PCR long after you have recovered), although you still have to take a Lateral Flow on Day 2 of your return to the UK, until this requirement is removed in mid February.

Hope you get well soon and have happy travels. (y)

What a tale, do you really still accept the rationale, surely not.
Ha well it's all in a Demagogues day.
Trust you feel better soon, most likely you will.
