On November 8th we were driving out of Bolougne towards Wissant when a large lorry hurtled past me blasting his horn. The motorway was switching over from 3 to 2 lanes and he was in the outside lane. I couldn't move over as there was a lorry in the slow lane, I was in the middle lane. He took a chance as the his lane was getting narrower. After that incident he blocked me from overtaking him on seven occasions. Some of this was seriously dangerous. On one occasion the road had returned to 3 lanes and I was trying to overtake in the outside lane when he indicated and pulled out about a metre into my lane. I have excellent dash cam footage of the 7 incidents and have sent some to his employers .awaiting, a reply. However I was just wondering if the French police would accept this and think about warning him.

Personally I would contact the employers.

If no joy there Facebook is there.

I suppose the police won't be interested. Worth taking the video to them though just in case.

Good on shopping him to the employer.

E mail the employer again and ask for an update before your intention to send the clip to the police.
Might wake them up. If a large company try and find somebody at owner/director level.

Let it go you'll only wind yourself up, put it down to experience and carry on.
Not the type to get wound up over something like that, just doing it out of a 'sense of duty' . There's a very dangerous driver out there and if he behaves like that he'll kill someone in time.

I doln't usually bother but a company van with a sticker "how is my driving" undertook me and an ambulance doing at least 90mph on a motorway so at the next stop i called his company and quoted last 3 digits of number plate to his boss......... He was supremely apologetic and i explained that i wouldnt accept one of my engineers blatantlhy breaking the law.

At last! there is a sensible use for Faceache.....public safety issues:xsurprised:
But we wont see em, so whisper in my ear if anything important comes up, eh?
LES:xThumb:

Not condoning bad driving, but what all they have going on in France at the moment do you genuinely believe that they will do anything about it. Chill and move on.

I got really wound up after a British Gas (or whatever they call themselves nowadays) got irate to me when I was on my bike he was on the phone at the traffic lights too. I phoned the number and complained never heard a thing I would have thought the odds of getting a reply from a French emplyer are a lot lower. Just have to accept there are idiots in this world even outside of parliament!!!

Can I ask why you have waited from 8 November until now to consider involving the police. If you considered it to be so dangerous at the time did you not consider contacting police immediately to allow them to stop and check driver and vehicle. If driver was unfit to drive they could have established that at the time as well as any defects with vehicle.....if they were unfit to drive or driving in such a dangerous manner then further danger may have been created for other motorists by allowing the driver to continue......it’s far harder for police to try and trace the driver now than stopping them at the time........think it’s a bit late to ask them to get involved now but if you consider it to be so dangerous that it warrants police involvement then contact them. I wouldn’t expect them just to warn the driver if you are reporting dangerous driving and feel the need to involve them......if it’s dangerous and you are reporting a statement to them to that effect then you should expect police to report driver to the court if the evidence exists? After this period of time I might be tempted to leave it with having drawn employers attention to the driver.

Send the footage to one or several of the YouTube channels that post dodgy driver and car crash footage.
You may not get direct sympathy, but at least there will people out there that watch it and castigate the lorry driver and who knows, in a roundabout it may get back to his employers.
You never know, it might even get on the telly.

The UK police will accept dash cam evidence submitted within a week of the event so they have time to analyse it and, if appropriate, issue proceedings etc. within 14 days since the event. If this had taken place in the UK and you wanted a chance of police action, do not put it on social media. As this event was in France and some time ago, I would wait 14 days to hear from the police if you can submit it. If no response, put it on Facebook if you want.

May be on here? Sorry no time to go through it, but if you need me to, I'll do it tonight

Edit: Keep in mind that any offense you could have done can also be used against you (DBK had no time to read it all carefully, but I bet it's what you said)

I had Similar after getting off the Roscoff Ferry.....Unfortunately I didn't have a Dash Cam !......
Later , In Bootifull Cornwall,Had a video of boy-Racer Overtaking My car and wife driving the Mh in front....going down main road with double white lines to our right, single lane to our left leading to traffic lights at T junction (we intended, and were signaling to turn right at T Junction lights) , he came screaming past on our right hand side, blaring horn while in the 'wrong' lane forcing the oncoming traffic to turn onto the footpath...he then crossed directly in front of MH, taking the slip road to the left, going through 'Red' light and disappeared at a high rate of knots
Sent the local police the dash-cam footage,...had to go to to the station and make statement, show video from mine and wife's vehicle dash-cam point of view, because the original video's were in a format they apparently couldn't view...only to be told that 2 weeks had passed and they couldn't make any charge...I then told them that according to the DVLA Road tax website...it wasn't Taxed...Bingo ! said the policeman who was taking our statement, checked the supplied reg on the dvla site...."we shall pay him a visit within the hour and he WILL get a £1000 fine and possibly have his -hot-rod' (actually a Nissan with go-faster-stripes) Crushed"...RESULT !...so to all you 'boy-racers' who stick their fingers up at a MH doing 39 in 40 zone .....*censored*

Put it on you tube. Send the footage to dash cam Europe or others. There are plenty on you tube to choose from. Or all.

GOT A RESULT. Sent the video to the transport manager of the company John Driege in Luxemboug. Got the following response from the owner Jimmy Driege.
Hi
First of al I would like to apology in the name of the company for these experience ,and thank you to warn us .
Whe will take sanctions against our driver .
I would be very thank full if you would not post these or go to the police .
Whe are very strict with our drivers about security rules, but sadly enough whe cant control them every moment of the day ,it’s a good thing u warn us so we can look it will not happened again .
Whe are a company with a good reputations and would like to keep it like these .

Good enough result I think.
It's in the hands of the employer and that's the best you can hope for in this instance..
If it were me and really way beyond someone having a bad day and being a bit of a gobsh**** I'd have been straight onto the police with the footage. AND I'd tell the employer I had done so as well.
As Mattyjwr said, you only have limited time to report if you actually want action to be taken.
If all you are looking for is some sort of petty useless "karma" points, then stick it on YT or FB for everyone to tut tut at.

You cant honestly be winding yourself up about something that happend almost a month ago on the road and nothing actually come of it, he is a tit, your alive and your motor in one piece, it can't be news to you that the roads are full of numpties? We all see it daily, suck it up and move on.
