We are hoping to explore the uk this autumn/ winter rather than chance it abroad.
Looking for a site in southern england, walking distance to a beach, town pub open in October doesn't need to be dog friendly. will be taking the KTM but do enjoy a nic walk along a beach or on a prom. Especially if there is a decent pint and some seafood at the end of it.

Where i am at the moment would be what you ask but at 30 quid a night and clubhouse on site might be ok for one or two nights. Its nowt special tho .

Try Cofton Park near Dawlish. Big commercial site but when kids go back its great and on ACSI. Pitches near the fishing pond are big. 5 minute walk to a pub that does gorgeous pints of Tribute and Jail. Food also excellent. 200yds further on another pub specialising in seafood. Bus outside site that takes you to other resorts or the train station. Lovely walk through woods 20 mins to beach and long prom to Dawlish. Other ACSI site we use is Ladram Bay , nice pub in village, has its own beach. Near to lovely Sidmouth but a bit more of a demanding walk. I would try Cofton.

Sue, Norman’s Bay club site might fit the bill. It’s not far from Eastbourne (not walking distance though) and is opposite the beach. You could walk into the village/small town for a pub etc. When we were there several years ago in tents we ended up buying a Bambi micro camper!! A long story which I’ll tell you about sometime 😂.
Boycott lives there so would be able to supply loads of info.

We are going here to a THS for a few nights at the end of September but it looks like the site is open during October. Never been before so can't recommend it as such.

Wow thanks for all the replies, will be having a good gander at the recommended sites. Have only twice been to a haven site once in a hired caravan and nearly 11 years ago in the Escape, that is all we wanted to do, esape :ROFLMAO: might be better not in high season though.

Are you a member of C&C club if so the THS at porth beach near Newquay is a nice site , just across the road from the beach , or the headland which is quite interesting and rugged . pub just over the road , sorry no promenade .
Newquay about a mile away with all its shops ,pubs restuarants & beaches .
The THS ( there's 2 on )I think is £14 a night with ehu 1st sept till 19th sept , & the other is 16 a night including Ehu,runs from 12th sept till 3rd oct , we've used this THS several times when visiting family down here . now moved down , so reasonably local for us , we hope to have a few nights towards the of sept of begin of oct .

If you're thinking down as far as St Austell would recommend here https://www.littlewinnick.co.uk/
Walk down the riverside (gravel path) to the The Ship Inn in Pentewan (and beach) or hop on a bus into Mevagissey for other pubs \ restaurants (don't take motorhome passed the big car park on left!). The Fountain's a good pub (prefer it to the better known Ship) and Salamander restaurant does decent seafood.
Not far from Lost Gardens of Heligan.
You pass-by Asda superstore (you can get motorhome into car park - around the back is best) for supplies and fuel. There's also a Tesco superstore and Lidl just off the main road.

Thanks all should have said this is for October, so THS unfortunately will be finished, members of both clubs for the cl/cs sites and a few of the biggies.
