Hi All,

Anyone travelled California in an RV? We've been offered one to use over the next few weeks. Looking at Ventura Beach first, but after that don't know. If you've done it and have some suggestions, let us know.

Many Thanks

Clare and Dave.

The last one we stayed on before taking RV back to LA was Dockweiler beach RV park from memory was municipal and pitched up on seafront , great for dipping in the pacific and beach front cycle path but a bit noisy as close to flight path of LAX.

Wow.... it will be fantastic, we took an R.V. from Chicago across to San Fransisco, need to visit some canyons... we thought Bryce or Zion were the best ( bit inland from the coast), if its soon, doubt you will get into Grand !!!! we travelled the coast from L.A. don't do the motorways ( High ways) stick to the coast road, Monterey, Big Sur, L.V. isn't so far inland... we weren't keen on L.V. but if you need shopping go to the South Mall.... deals are incredible.
If you don't fancy going....... we would love to.......;)

Another interesting one is Yosemite Lakes RV park , we stayed one night and swam in a large pool created by a partial dam in the Tuolumne river which runs through the park, it was real cold and fascinating to see the gold dust glistening in the crystal clear water.
Yosemite is just beautiful.

we did florida in a hired rv a few years ago and loved it found the KOA group of parks both reasonable and clean they are well worth looking at.

Thanks for the replies. Have list of a few to visit. Looking forward to doing a slightly different type of motorhome trip. However, some things will be the same, like queuing up for Fish and Chips in Ventura Beach!

We did an amazing RV trip last year for 3 months encompassing South west states. We used a camping app, there are a few, and it was invaluable. It showed all the campsites and free stopovers on BLM land along with places in transit like Walmart stores for free overnight stops. Check out National campsite clubs which enable discounts a bit like ACSI. Buy a National parks years ticket 80$ it lasts a year.
Great place to travel.
Phil
