Does anyone know whats happening there at the moment. We are booked on Eurotunnel at 6.45pm 31st july and usually stop for the night.
However, Im hearing it might be closed and crawling with migrants.

The motorhome park has been closed at night since before Christmas, but you can still park there for shopping.
And no it's not crawling with migrants.

As mentioned, it's been closed for a while and I doubt it's gonna open for overnighting any time soon, if at all.

Which way are you going in France?

We've stopped at Watten, it's a nice spot and quiet, we went A16 then off at St Folquin (junction 51) and down that way otherwise you'll cut back on yourself quite a bit going on the A26.

Just be mindful that’s it’s a popular place for many and could well be full; best to have a backup (y)

I use saint-Omer not very far from Watten , lovely town with a great square
Had a look at St Omer seems like a good option but there is a 3m bridge noted on the search for sites websites. Have you been down that way?

been there Many times , there is a low bridge under the railway line near the aire but there is no need to go under it , bearing In mind it’s a Aire and full of large MH’S all year round so no problem at all , very close to the Lovely historic Center , ideal When heading in or out of Calais ,

Edit , ps I think that bridge is only 2.2m high

We use Marcoing, it’s about 1hr 20m from Calais just off the A26

St Omer is ok but the Aire is right beside a very fast railway track and when we were there, a few years back, the trains fair rattled through there and even the ground shook!
We usually head for Montreiul now!
