Cable runs for reverse sensor and side detection systems - Lenny B

I am hoping that Lenny or other motor home electrics experts can advise on the following question.

I have to get 4 cables to run from the rear of our N&B ARTO 2007 model to the cab, the cables are camera screen and reverse sensor info (1 cable) 2 off side detection sensor indicators and one off 12v power.

Is it best to try and weave this little lot down in between the lower and upper floors or is it OK it drop below the floors and strap the cables to the side of one of the Alko chassis rails?

As long as you clear the suspension and the exhaust, outside is fine. It's the only option PVCs have, and they're fine. Run it in a flexible conduit if you want to make it neater and more chafe resistant... but it will probably end up full of water.
 
I would expect an N&B to have trunking runs inside the van either in or behind the top lockers so should be a fairly easy job. The trunking may not not be white and may match the interior woodwork so not so easy to spot.
 
Do you think that will be the case if both ends of the flx conduit came up into dry spaces?
Possibly. Personally I don't think it's a major issue either way. The conduit is there to protect the cables. The cables are waterproof. I just ended up putting a couple of small cuts in mine to allow it to drain.

There are plenty of cables on the chassis already so I can't see a problem, I would use that flexible conduit with a split so any moisture can get out as well as in, I am not sure that there are any easy runs inside.

A good trick to get cables through ducts/trunking is to use a vacuum cleaner to suck a length of string through. Tie your cable to the other end then pull it through. I often tie a second length of string to the first string so I can pull that through at the same time as a spare for future use.
 
it depends where you want to get to as the double floor on an arto doesnt go under the cab floor. I found it easier to cable tie to the outside, just followed another cable run ( which was in trunking) and clipped the new cables to the topside of it as much as poss.

What were you running to the back of the MH?
Reversing camera cable, tubes for the semi-air and the cable between the heating control and the air heater unit that I moved. They all went from inside near the cab, via the well at the bottom of the B pillar, to the rear axle area or beyond, so I bundled them into a single flexible conduit, snaked to the the back and used p-clips and cable ties to hold it up.
