All the gear, and no idea!
As you know I have just got a new to me van and had the Alugas 14+11kg took out, went to size them up in the new van and the 14kg is too tall??
What’s my best option, sell the 14kg no1 cylinder on its own, and get an 11kg no1 and use with my 11kg no2, or sell both together as a uniit and get a new gaslow System (as I’m not tight for payload)? The Alugas was fitted at Autogas 2000 at Thirsk.

id just try and sell the 14 then buy a new 11kg or even a 6kg which will give you plenty of backup when your 11kg runs out

How old is the 11 kg and how long to you plan to keep the van? I'm thinking of the 10 year life of the cylinders.

Hi Lenny, the 14 is 2018 and the 11 is 2017 I think when I had them fitted At autogas I was going to go with the 14 only, and Chris had the 11 by somebody who went to 14 and traded the 11 in (maybe that’s an idea?) So still a good 7 yrs left.

Se what they will offer as trade in, if not sell the 14 and buy an 11. They have a good resale value so you shouldn't lose too much in the deal. Selling both to just replace them with something heavier seems pointless as both do the same job.

Or ask if anyone wants to upgrade their 11 to a 14,.might be able to just do a swap.

Sell the 14 and buy another 11 then.

Get your jigsaw out.
I'm an advocate of the lump hammer myself but that really only helps with the width rather than the height. :giggle:

Change the van?

I refrained from mentioning that, I know all about you and lump hammers.
Shhhhh ... don't tell everyone our little secrets ... I don't think they know you're into S&M ... or is it M&S? :ROFLMAO:

just need to buy a new filler point, install in skirt and away we go!! All leak tested, all good, hobs, fridge and boiler fired up immediately ?? Happy days??

Must be using tardis technology to fit a 67cm bottle in a 63cm gap ?

Looks snug ?

It was all approx, there was a bit of give in the plastic and it could have been 66cm and 64cm but it is very snug??

Just wondering how you are going to get the regulator above the height of the cylinders.

Put it on the roof?

Lenny, the Truma thingy is in the middle behind the bottles, if you zoom in just see it on the left corner of smaller bottle, are you saying that’s in the wrong place????

I think with that set up I would buy new longer pigtails that go from the bottle outlets, down to the locker floor then back up to the regulator. Any contaminants would then stay in the loops rather than getting to the regulator.

Truma recommend the reg is higher than the bottle outlet, with pipes sloping back to the bottle to stop residue and liquid lpg running into the reg.

But its not always possible and some installers don't even follow the guidelines themselves. Probably won't have any issues but its something thats come up in discussions lately. The LPG filter thread was one.

As suggested a longer pigtail may be a workaround

Whilst I can see it fits. It looks a bit too close to the head to me, If it is tight be aware of the possibility of the Pipe/Fitting fracturing IF you have the misfortune to go over (say) a large road bump!. The plastic should give but?. Is there NO way of creating a bit more clearance above?. OR even the possibility of Lowering the Floor?.

I think that is a valid point you make and after reading a few posts on here I might have to swap the 14 for an 11. I’ll give Autogas a ring?
