We are looking at van conversions but the price amongst manufacturers for near same specification vary so much , has Elddis improved since their takeover on van derived motorhomes

Most issues can be resolved if you have an half decent dealer , and they can find time my biggest issue has been damp ingress ,not good

Have a look at S&L motorhomes, superb quality and you can have it built how you want it.

I've no idea whether my dealer was exceptional, or whether the van came in good order from the manufacturer.

I had a very small snagging list:
  1. A small water leak around the passenger door
  2. A connection had come loose on a fuse - it just needed to be pushed on and the connector squeezed with pliers
  3. A stitching fault on a couple of the carpets.
  4. A loose blind
  5. A tiny sealant gap in the bathroom

All fixed without any hassle (the door leak by the citroen dealer, the others by the motorhome dealer).

Sadly build quality on all vans, not just British ones have deteriorated over the years in my opinion. When we buy from a dealer we expect trust, sadly that seem to be deteriorating as well. I would suggest before you hand over the final payment you go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb, don't be rushed by the dealer. Its your money and sometimes lifetime savings. If its not right don't take it until it is. Dealers sadly will promise you the earth, some can deliver some can't. Sorry to sound so pessimistic. Others on here may agree or disagree.
