My last threads I was moaning about been bored in hospital waiting for My minor heart attack to be sorted. Now after seven days waiting in hospital to day I was sorted out. Now 5.45pm and feeling great after having a stent fitted. Will miss the TDF but the Giro is on October so Italy here come.

I must comment on the hospital food many times I have heard adverse comments but I found it brilliant well done RDAE in Exeter.

Off home tomorrow hurray.

Hi, I'm sure many of us on here have needed a stent, in a few days you will be back to normal. Our hospital offers a 'cardiac keep fit' follow up, well worth considering. Stay well.

Don't forget, you have to have it done again after 30 years, so don't get too excited.
It's great when its done isn't it(y) (y) (y)

They shaved my three piece just before the proceedure (horrendous) then, on the trolly told me I was having a new method via the arm:Eeek::Eeek:, I just surrendered.

Turns out they did know what they were doing after all though.

Take good care(y).

Hope the nurse who shaved you was nice and not just doing it to have a laugh😆

Shaved your tackle? For a heart job. What do they shave for a vacectamy?

It was a stent, usualy put in through the groin in a main artery. For a vasectomy they shave the last few seconds of your ablility to fire live rounds and sometimes, nik one of your spuds with the razor if you have a nervous, scrote jerk reaction. You should try it , its a real white knuckle eye opener.

You'll be like an 18yr old soon ;)

And the Giro, i think you'll be signing up to participate(y)

I'll try to get Devonian flag up for you on LPdBF:p

And if you on the way to the Giro then don't hesitate to stop by for a brew, we'll be going for a weekend just not sure which one as yet.

Good news, enjoy your travels. (y)

Had both a stent and the snip (not at the same time I may say or due to any medical negligence)
Had the snip at the local doctors surgery after hearing all the horror stories of hospital jobs etc. Shaved at home and doc tidied up the missed bits. During the op I'm doing a bit of meditation to keep mind occupied looks at the trainee nurse that has gone white as a sheet and about to pass out.:whatthe: I then start to panic thinking "Oh my God what's going on":yawn: turns out its her first day and not good with sight of a little blood. Doc says come back in a wèk and I'll take the stitches out, went back 2 days later as swmbo says that dont look right, turns out that when sticking lets say the front of the bag was stitched to the back! 😲
When stent was done in 2001 nurse said we go in on the right side of groin do you want to go and shave, toddlers of with the Bic and a bar of soap, came back and got back into bed, ward sister comes to check, takes a peek and starts laughing 😩😩. Mr Clark she laughs you where supposed to shave both sides!!!

Hope you're now home and feeling great.

Glad that's better news.
In a former life I was present at one of the first "modern" stent fittings and watched a women's life saved right in front of me. This possible due to a young forward thinking Dr. at Middlehime hospital, Belgium. Always amazed, always frightened.
