Absolute beginners.
Hi all, well the relief was actually palpable !! After chasing our deriers round and round, the decision was made and the deposit has been put down, phew.
It wouldn't be everyone's choice, but it ticked all our boxes. We looked at new, and would have bought, had we found what we wanted, in the right configuration. I've read it on here many times, it takes 3 purchases to get to your ideal van. I'm hoping I've at least cut out one of the bunny holes.
And the money went on *********+++++++!!!!!!, A one year old Sunlight T66:giggle:, showing 16k of miles, commensurate with it's history as a one year old ex hire vehicle, for sub £40k. It will be handed over with the small list of scuffs, and mark all taken care of. Drives a treat, and is reasonably quiet.
Now the add ons start, solar panel, second battery, wheel locks, trackers,TV, of some sort, and a thousand other "must have" items, not forgetting front garden remodelling to allow for off road parking.
Thanks to all those who have taken the time and trouble to contributed information for others to benfit from, by people to numerous to mention, and some of which actually sunk in!!!
Regards.
Mike and Sue.

You will love it.

We once bought an ex-hire motorhome. The great thing was that all the snags you find with a new one had been sorted out.

Usually good value for money.

At 16k a In the first year it will have shown up all the niggles so you should be fine.

Enjoy it to the full. (y)

Hi.
Happy for you. When remodelling your front garden, watch out for " Services " ( Water/gas Leccy) Sometimes..... they are not as deep as they should be. Happy miles. (y)

Will you be considering a name change from BouncyBoatFolk to RockingVanGang? :imoutahere:

The RVG, well I might just pass on that suggestion, but feel free to ask Mrs BBF, if you've got you're running shoes on :giggle:.

Yes, that's correct. Unfortunately Covid has just scuppered our pick update, which is a bugger on more than one front as I have just spent all day digging out the front garden as a landing patch for the MH, and loading a skip with a wheel barrow:fubar:.
Regards.

Hi, not about this matter, but we did get a standard email to say they were temporarily shutting down their operation due to Covid restrictions. C'est la vie.

Some years ago, on returning to motorhoming after an absence, we bought an ex-hire unit.

No real problems with it. Anything that had gone wrong on a day-to-day basis had been fixed by the hire company.

I am sure you will love it! (y)

Is it stuck in 12v mode? The hire V66 we had also seemed to be stuck like that. I turned the 12v supply off, and sort of rebooted it, you have to hold it on the "A" auto selection mode for quite a while, but then it takes the hint, and gets on with it.
