Today at Oulton Park, first round.

Overcast but the sun is trying to break through.

This month is going to be great.

Oulton Park now, next weekend at Cadwell for the British Historic bike racing, the following weekend at Donington for the next round of BSB and to round it off the Motogp at Silverstone.

Woohoo.

My fave riders are Danny Kent and Bradley Ray.
Both capable of winning it.

But there's a few kids who've been here a few years and still running mid pack with occasional brilliance.

They should be beating the old farts rather than thinking they've made it.

Like the lad with the funny hats. He seems to think he's made it, rather than striving to win it.
A bit like Jamie Robinson in 90s. Loved himself too much.

Storm Stacey? Cat in the hat or *wat in the Hat? ;)

Don't know where to start with this .

Incident happened on the 1st lap of the Supersport race.

The meeting was abandoned after a horrific racing incident involving 11 riders.

The organisers said earlier it was a " severe and catastrophic " incident.

Waiting for an official update regarding the riders.

Allegedly two riders have passed away according to a recent comment on this video, very sad to hear that if true.

Too many riders, nowhere to go. Such a shame, heart goes out to the families, the teams and all the track staff.

The show will go on, it always has, but they need to re-assess what they are doing .

Can I ask are you parking the Moho in say woodlands or one of the other areas??

Also how much are they ripping people off these days for the week end??

I hope I never witness another tragic incident like this again.
I was less than 100 meters away.
So sad.
Aji I hope you are okay. That will have been upsetting for many spectators, especially those near the scene.
I’ve been involved in Motorsport (4 wheels rather than 2) for many years and have to admit that the bike races are scary to me. The lack of protection for riders, even though there have been some big advances in safety equipment, unfortunately means that being struck by a bike, or head injuries are potentially very serious.

Such a tragic incident. Motorcycle racing racing is very dangerous and IMHO every effort is made to mitigate injuries where possible. The only thing I would comment on is the number of riders on the grid. The incident happened in the middle of the pack and half the very large field had no idea what was going on further up the and with their heads down probably had no chance of seeing, let alone avoiding getting involved.

Hello,

I was staying on a site nearby.

The onsite campsites were full, don't know the cost of camping there.

A 3 day pass to enter the circuit as a spectator was £49, booked in advance, good value in my opinion.

Was the question regarding MotoGP at Silverstone?

I'm fine thanks.
I love this sport, however yesterday was one of those days which left me numb.

It was a terrible time for the medical teams and marshalls.

Don't know.

I am only going to be at Silverstone for the Sunday, I'm booked on a site about an hour away.

However, a day ticket for general entry was £95.

The big rip off part is they charge £20 for parking.

I know it's going slightly off topic but when I went to the Catalunya MotoGP it was 27euros for a 3 day seniors ground pass.

Yeah.
Great track.
Was there a couple of years ago for the Motogp
Can't remember the cost, but definitely less than Silverstone.
