Hi all got a broken spring on the rear of my hymer motorhome it appears to be a specialist spring put on at the hymer factory does anyone know where I could source one from or get one made in the Derbyshire region its a hymer sprinter 312d c630 coach built year 2000

Have you tried supplying the VIN No. to the Mercedes Benz dealership.

I'm assuming? that your Hymer is on a Sprinter chassis.

I would think it’s a Merc part as well

we have brilliant service and support from Mertrux at J28 M1

Has it got one eye that rolls up and other end rolls down?

Hi thanks all it's the sprinter chassis with a extension on the back it's leaf springs but with to small springs that are only about 8 inches long. I will try a phone a couple of the suggestions thanks

It'll be well worth hunting around for a replacement spring.

Our ambulance service had Sprinters with Air Ride Suspension at the rear which could kneel down & from memory, these vehicles had an unusual short rear spring setup.
I very much doubt that Hymer went to the trouble of designing their own suspension, the costs would be prohibitive.

Could you post some photo's of the offending spring?

Yes I will do later thanks when I get in appreciate all the replies folks

sounds to me more like the 2/3rds leaf with rear bag? Like you got on iveco ambulances.

Here is the offending spring you can't see from this angle but it's broken at the bottom

Looks like a coil over spring and not a Leaf Spring, think we got confused initially or at least I did which aint hard, as most of us have cart springs on ours.
Hope you find a new set of coil springs, and can get at them to replace without the need for specialist tools other than a spring compressor.

There is a leaf spring as well this is a very short spring only about 6 inches long I could probably get replacements made not sure how to go about measuring it though with out it being taken off. Jack up suspension possibly.

Cheers Tony
