Well I have notes that the shower tray is starting to crack this is 1990 van so I don't hold out much hope of getting a replacement.
is there product on the market to repair them or is it just get something nearly the same and adapt

Shower Tray Repair
It doesn’t matter whether there is small crack or an actual hole, bring your Caravan or Motorhome to us and we can repair it – Overnight.


First we have to completely remove the crack or expand the hole, so we remove a piece by drilling holes and then using a jig saw we join them to remove fractured pieces.



If the shower floor is “spongy” then we like to back fill with an expanding foam, this has to left to set for 6 hours.



Then the piece is replaced or the crack sealed with a two-part resin. It’s built up over 3 layers and again left for 2 hours to set.

Once that has set, we need to flat down the existing coat. Take away any chemicals or other sealants and prepare for the top coat.

Once we’re at this stage we can apply sprayable coat of rubberised semi-smooth polymer over the complete shower tray.

This will completely seal the shower tray leaving a slightly textured, anti-slip finish. Once cured, after 12 hours, creates a strong thick coating allowing the shower tray to be used once again. If needed, or wanted, we can apply a top colour coat to match an existing room or “give a fresh feel” to your bathroom.

The plastic shower tray repair is done without taking the plastic shower tray out of the Motorhome, Caravan or RV and with very little mess.

The price for this starts at £195 – remember it has to come to our workshops in Stoke On Trent

Speedcoat about£300 depending on size etc. Not the cheapest but I prefer the smoother/harder finish than the towtal one. We were told that the shower in our previous van was done by towtal & found it difficult to clean.

The alternative is to use a soldering iron to seal the its together. and maybe add some more plastic of the same colour.

Hi Bill

I repaired one for a friend, epoxy resin and light weight woven glass cloth or fine random mat to repair the cracks and it will stick to the plastic. You can then finish it with a polyester gelcoat with a touch of MW wax solution to make it cure without being tacky.

You need to start with the epoxy as polyester won't stick to the plastic tray.

If you can get the gear from a boat builder or something like you can fix it for not a lot of dosh.

I would still use the epoxy resin and glass first but that might be OK to finish off with.
