Anyone had problems with not starting the van because of immobiliser kicking in? Currently stalled on M4, engine won't restart. Immobilizer light came on briefly. Recovery truck on the way but any other suggestions welcomed! Van is just three years old, Bailey Autograph745

Have you checked the fuses?
Check fuses which are on positive terminal on battery - if like mine, under passenger footwell.
I had something similar a couple of months back and it was the big red fuse - I posted details and photos on here. Good luck

Thanks for the quick advice folks - as it turns out, recovery man said the alternator's fine, the battery's got lots of volts but no amps. Doesn't mean a thing to me but apparently that means the battery's gone. He jumpstarted the van and now we're heading non stop to a battery shop!

When I read your OP just now the first thing I thought of was a goosed cab battery ... pleased you're getting it sorted now but I doubt if anyone will believe that I though of it BEFORE you said that was the issue!

Minxy are you sure you did?
lol
Yup, we had a similar thing happen with a car once, it just suddenly stopped and wouldn't start again, fortunately it was under warranty so the breakdown chap fitted a better one than the original cr@p one.

Wheres the bs alert
... no bs ... well not from me anyway! :giggle: The below link was is about a similar issue with an Ypsilon which fortunately occurred at home:

The one I mentioned earlier was a prior incident we had with a Megane when we drove out of the entrance at work, across the road and it just conked out ... new battery sorted it.

So :moon2: to you!

ooooh stockings! sexy time
Sorry to disappoint but suavecarve is a bit more 'kinky' than that (although it's better without the 'kink') ... as he likes a bit of plastic and rubber ... :roflmto:

Is that food grade :party2:
Nope ... I suppose it depends where you stick it as to whether it needs to be or not. I've never used a food grade one for our water supply and I'm okay! ?

Couple of weeks ago on an aire guy next to us had nothing on ignition ,I checked the battery connector and had about 3 volts for some unknown reason I checked the battery terminals and had 12.7 volts all it needed was to clean the positive terminal and inside the fuse holder. When tightening up the connector can only tighten so much as there is a stop which although tight but the connector had to be pushed down hard.
