Check everything if you make any changes.

Booked on the Pont Avon for Plymouth to Santander in July. Originally when booked we had standard cabins as they were only available at the time.

I've been checking religiously to see if better cabins become available and over time I managed to get us in the deluxe cabins for both crossings and we have paid the difference of the cabins so the final amount has increased.

This morning while checking the commodore cabin became available at £32 extra so I upgraded. Later on I looked at the booking confirmation and see that the amount due had increased by almost £200 and not the £32 I was expecting.

Looking through the breakdown on the updated booking I see that they had added the new cabin at £32 extra but also added £75.90 to each of the crossings!

I sat on hold for nearly an hour until I got through the BF and the lady said she was not sure why the system had done that and immediately issued a new confirmation showing just the £32 increase.

So word of warning, if you do upgrade/downgrade or make any changes to the booking, check everything is in order. I imagine if I had changed the sailing times or locations I would pay the latest prices but just changing the cabin ONE WAY added £75 to EACH crossing.

I have just checked a crossing Plymouth/Santander in October.

The “Commodore Class” cabin is quoted at a surcharge of £240. I can’t imagine how you were quoted only £32. Goos luck with that.(y)

Read the post....

It was £32 more than the deluxe I already had booked

You referred first to “de luxe” cabins, then to “Commodore Class” cabins. They are of a different standard and are different prices with the “Commodore” being dearer.

However, I may have misunderstood your wording.

It's just a boring 'cruise', just get on with it .................
