5.30am the new time tables came out.
Its Only Pont Avon SAILING with no pet cabins!! C.F starts 27th JAN 2021
ANYWAY all booked until end March

I am off tooooo bed!

A question on booking with BF if someone could help.
I have have travelled many times takeing a motor bike but never with a van.
The booking form asks for the length of the vehicle which for me is 6.4m. It then asks if I am taking a bike rack which I probably will. The rack puts me at @ 7.2 m. So do I put van length at under 7m and tick the bike rack or do I need to be looking at including the rack in the length? I would ask BF , but their lines are constantly engaged.
Thanks Howard

Cheaper if you book as 6.4m and tick the box for carrying bike rack.

yes, I can tell you that from experience.

brittany ferries have cracked down on vehicle sizes in the last two years.

too many people trying it on.

We have a car that if we put the registration in Brittany ferries, their system checks it against the car data. The car data says it’s over 1.83m. But that only in off road mode. In driving or lowered mode, it’s under.

so we have to say we don’t have the registration then argue and get them to measure at the port

I see Pont Aven has been Shifted to Some of Cap Finister's route
New Galacia looks good too
I have booked a single trip from Bilboa to Portsmouth Sept 21 which cost me £337 with a club cabin. The only route down which suit our timetable at present is on the new Galacia. When you take into account the tolls etc its sort of stacks up price wise at @ £480, however it says it has a crossing time of 32 hours. Dont really fancy two nights on a ferry so its either that or drive over three days down the West of France .

Hi Howard B

Are you sure about the Dates?

You said "I have booked a single trip from Bilboa to Portsmouth Sept 21 which cost me £337 with a club cabin" Do you mean Bilbao to Portsmouth in 2021 or Portsmouth to Bilbao in 2020?.

Which date did you look to book Galcia and which way?

Dates are right and the crossing I have booked so far is Bilbao to Portsmouth. I did look at the Galicia from Portsmouth - Spain which I think was on the 16th Sept, but I wont be spending 32 hours on a ferry. After a bit of research I will book Portsmouth to St Malo on the evening of the 16th instead and take 3 -4 days to get to Spain. I think the quote I got for that crossing with cabins will be @ £230

I am intrigued now as I don’t know why it’s 32 hours. Unless Galacia is changing crew in France like Cap Finistere does on Sunday departures.

As it is a Spanish only shop, this may be the case.

includes breakfast and dinner though .

I have a 15% off voucher which I have to use by tomorrow. Saves me @£60, but still comes in at £482 for the single leg.
