Good morning everyone. We’ve decided to pop over to Brittany next week with our motorhome for 6 nights (Plymouth - Roscoff) and wondered if there were any campsite recommendations amongst you all. We tend to leave the Moho on site and explore on foot and/or by bicycle (non electric!) so our wish list includes (in no particular order) easy access to a beach and a village/town for shopping, or public transport for a ‘day out’. We’ve done some research via the CAMC, C&CC and Pitchup websites but would welcome the benefit of your advice and experience. Thank you.

I stayed at Camping Les Sables Blancs in Concarneau not the cheapest but after a month on Aires in France thought i would treat myself.
15 mins to beach 30 mins to town, the old town is spectacular, also buses to Quimper which is another must.
Campsite has great facilities, Pool, Jacuzzi Bar Restaurant and very modern showers.

Hi Timny there are many lovely places in Brittany. Two of our favorite places are Aire camping cars Josselin free aire next to the Brest / Nantes canal good for walking or cycling, The old town and chateau are beautiful. 2nd Fromagerie Suscinio, 56370 Sarzeau, farm stop with well stocked farm shop, easy walking or cycling to Suscinio castle or to the sea. Enjoy your travels

Just moving on from 3 nights at Flower Camping, Vannes. Good location for cycling, walking and beaches - loads to explore in the Gulf of Morbihan. Campsite (basic) restaurant & takeaway and a 10-15 minute cycle into town on cycle paths the whole way. Wednesday/Saturday market is just amazing!

We're currently in Quiberon at a Campsite Sauvage at St Julien Plage.
2 mins from beach, supermarket and resturant. Great for cycling as lots of cycle lanes and tracks. You can bike around the whole peninsula in 2 to 3 hours. Several markets the main one is Quiberon Town on Saturday morning. Campsite with WiFi, electric, water and drain on each pitch 16 euro's a night. Site Closes end part of September.

Camping Ar Kleuger at St Pol De Leon is a lovely site with great views and lovely cycling. It is near the town of St Pol De Leon and only a few miles from Roscoff. We have been 3 times and are still finding lovely new cycle routes. The campsite doesn't have a restaurant but there are two within 300 yards.

We arrived at Pemboch (near Vannes) yesterday. Lovely site with great walks/cycling nearby. We booked through CAMC. It’s very busy which surprised us as we’ve just come from Benodet which was quiet.

Been here twice, excellent site, walkable to Concarneau and the big E. Leclerc. As you say really good restaurant on site that’s so good in fact the locals use it as their go-to restaurant. Quite modern and great ambience. Yes, love this site.

Campsites in Brittany will be beginning to close soon. I would look at the Camping-car Park aires network as most of their sites have EHU which can be useful as the nights get longer. They have several aires in Brittany and we've probably used most of them. You can join at most of their sites using the machine - which speaks English if you select that language. :)

Bit of a wriggle around the site and the pitches are a bit cramped. Siting the grey waste dump on the narrow exit road isn't the smartest idea either.

Your right about the grey waste but I just waited until I went to the next Aire, some of the tent pitches were a bit cramped but I had a large pitch top of the hill with lovely sea views

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions and comments. We opted for Concarneau Camping Les Sables Blancs in the end and had a very enjoyable week which included walking into town along the coast road, cycling into town along the cycle track (former railway) and also cycling around the other side of town accessed via the small ferry which sails from the Fort, cycling to E.Leclerc and Mr Bricolage (don’t ask!) and a day out to Quimper via the local bus (the bus stop is near the Tourist Office) - highly recommend lunch in the creperie area. The pitch was a good size, the facilities clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and it was great to be able to order bread, croissants, etc. for the next morning. We also used the restaurant twice although it is now closed for the season. Didn’t get around to using the pool but it looked clean and inviting although it is not heated at this time of year! Recommend visiting the bar in the Hotel Sables just down the road as it overlooks the beach - great for watching the sunsets. So thanks again and will make use of other suggestions provided when next visiting Brittany. Hope others found them useful too.
