I know that you can camp in the car park in Bury St Edmunds, and that there's a park and ride near Canterbury. What others do people know about? We don't need any facilities, just legal overnight stops.

Stratford on avon at the leisure ctr.
Southport, Pleasure land car park.
Liverpool at the marina.
Weston super mare, on the main coach / truck car park.

I think a few car parks in devon.
some car parks in central wales.

Search for sites may have the answer. search "Overnight parking - no services "

Kinlochbervie harbour and Croft land above Shieldaig.
Unless there’s more crofting land that I don’t know about, this field has now been made into a caravan/MH site with toilet block and hard standing. Amazing views of course. But almost £30/night.

Ah ha ...... didn’t know that. ‘‘Twas over a year ago since we were there when it was available for a small donation. Like you say, cracking views and a short walk to the village.

I did have my doubts about this one....applies to all Ryedale carparks.

Conditions of Use
  • No sleeping, cooking, camping or lighting of fires
https://www.ryedale.gov.uk/environment/parking.html
It’s well signposted in the back car park. Ryedale decided to ignore Scarborough and go ahead with it. There are often a dozen vans here. I’ll try and dig out a photo or take another one tomorrow.

Thanks, some brilliant ones here. Not so many down south but I suppose that’s to be expected...

Keep em coming!

Maybe so, but that isn't the town square carpark.
It specifically states Cleveland way overflow carpark ONLY.
As for other carparks its there in black and white in my link.
Its about 1 minute to walk to the town square. Am I missing something?

No, because others would have read the signs. Pleeeese!!!!

Which directions to where.... The centre of town?????????.
Your response would have made sense if you had NAMED the carpark, but you didn't

Helmsley, North Yorkshire. Slap bang in the middle of a small market town.

Winchester coach park about £8 overnight
