I’m a Newbie
Hi Guys
We have got ourselves a Hymer b774. It has a couple of issues- clean water running out when tap is turned on (We don’t know where stop cock is and freezer maybe not working .... there ma be a switch somewhere, fridge is ok. Any help, advice gratefully received.
So if you know good reasonably priced places to get it serviced, etc around Bristol, that would be helpful.

I don't know what you call reasonably priced. But Bristol Cravans in Hortham Lane Almondsbury do servicing. When you say water is running out presumably that is under the van. Have a look inside the van where it is running out it may be the drain down/ frost protection valve is open and would be located directly above the outlet.

Where are you in Bristol by the way and welcome.

Thank you Lunarman. we‘ll look at Hortham Lane. All I meant by reasonably priced is that being completely new to this we didn’t want to have people telling us afterwards that we should have gone to this brilliant guy down the road. We don’t yet have much idea about what we’re going to be charged.
I think Ian knows the water is coming from the outlet pipe. He just doesn’t know how to stop it.
We’re actually in South Glos by the way.

Not far from us then.

If it is the dump valve it Depends on the type. If it is the lever type then just pust it down, If it is a grey device with a blue knob on the top then the trick is to push the button on the side and then turn it.

:hiya:from another Sth Glos Funster.
I have used Chipping Sodbury Caravans in the past - a family business that I have known through Father and son, but we have only used the converter on our present MH (in Yorkshire) for warranty issues.

Also in the area are North Road Caravan andMotorhome repairs who get good reviews on facebook.

Spending time on the forum and reading as much as you can will help build up your understanding of how things work and you will gain invaluable tips.

The Mobile Caravan Engineers Association (MCEA) might provide some handy local options (they generally work on motorhomes as well as caravans ;) ):

Hello, John, very good to have some local recommendations, thank you.

This is turning into a useful resource! I don't need any work doing at the moment (new-to-us MH still under warranty), but I've bookmarked it for future reference. :) Thanks!

My hymer has drain valves on both the hot and cold pipes. On my model [2005 B584), they are in the rear near side locker behind the large knob for opening the waste tank. It’s possible that these valves could be open. In the winter I drain everything down , including the boiler, whenever I leave the van.

Hello and welcome Squizz from Old Sodbury :sun: :sun: :sun:always nice to see another local on here. Have to agree with Riverbankannie suggestions have dealt with both companies in the past.
