MisterB added a new event:

Brightlingsea, Essex. 1st-4th June 2026- follow on from Thorpe le Soken

There is no pre requisite to attend the Thorpe rally, Brightlingsea is being treated as a separate rally. it will last for three nights from midday on Monday 1st June and depart around midday on the 4th June. Activities are being planned but are not compulsory and will be mainly around the boating theme of the town and harbour and likely to involve short boat trips over to Mersea Island or Point Clear.

There are around nine pubs plus a few restaurants/cafes within a five/ten minute walk...

Its not an issue, there's no real rush re exact dates, I know you're coming at some point and staying for Brightlingsea, so at the moment that's all I need!

Yes please, can you add us to the list?

Can't believe I missed you two off the list, must be an age thing !! Hope the knee is holding out Neil?

Just sent off for some "wonder" cream before I ask to go on the waiting list for a new knee. I think the word desperation comes to mind. ;)

I visited the campsite this morning and I'm pretty sure that it's NOT going to happen at the suggested (by the previous managers) price.

However an interesting little proposition might be available, albeit for a one night before we move onto the plating field. Its at a local vineyard about a mile outside Brightlingsea and on the (only) road into Brightlingsea.

They've never held a rally before so were a bit caught out when I approached them, but they do have their own caravan, so immediately understood and seemed quite keen. As always it will come down to price, so I will look to put together some sort of proposal

They have water available but no emptying point, but if we arrive there from Thorpe with water and an empty cassette, I'm sure a one nighter will be more than feasible before moving into Brightlingsea itself OR is it not worth setting up for one night?

Looking at arriving there around 1200 hrs, a wine tour at 1500 and an evening picnic by the pond at 1800 - all subject to the price of course.
