Has anybody been to Brakes Coppice in Sussex, near Battle? If so are there any issues with access in an 8 metre m/h and is the fishing any good? TIA

I have been a couple of years ago. Found it ok and yes you will get in. If you are looking for a far better fishing site, although a bit expensive, have a look at Summner ponds Horsham 5 star site great fishing lakes three lakes on top of your vans

Thanks for that. I'll bear that in mind. I am 'visiting' close to Battle and the fishing was incidental!
Will try Horsham on way back I suspect. Whatever, my gear will be in my m/h
Just going to look up your suggestion

If you can avoid weekends Fri -Sunday and the school hols the place will normally be packed from now on. I dropped in Sunday peak time but from Monday had the lakes to myself some lovely doubles and the top lake 20s. Heaven it is and still here

since 2014!
We went to this site a year or so ago and, IIRC, there was a very steep final approach track, with a significant bend at the bottom! At the time, I was glad we had a rear wheel drive Moho when leaving - I don't think I would try it in the present fwd one!!

Cannot speak to the fishing, but the walking was excellent!

Thanks JFD for that might just use another CL around the area.
PJGWilts might see you next week when I pop in for a day on my way back to Wilts!
