Borders between France, Belgium & Germany

Before covid we could drive through these countries as there were no border controls.
Is this still the case?

Still the case however there is a customs/police checkpoint on the E40/A16 just when you cross over from Belgium back into France. They divert all the traffic off the road and a slow crawl through the checkpoint.

I have never been stopped going through there but they do pull over vehicles usually not HGV's but passenger cars but no idea what for.

Maybe they had been stocking up with goodies at Adinkerke's chocolate factory
