On Bontera Park for a week thinking of calp or good old Benidorm newt any suggestions of sites

Dont mind an Aire type as long as it has a loo or full blown swimming pool etc

Cheers

Calpe is a great stop, Camping Sol de Cape Austral is a very posh camper stop. Pool won't be open this time of year, wasn't when we were there in April a few years ago.
The same company has another camper stop a litt bit further away from the centre.

We love Benidorm

Away from Benidorm

Alfaz del pi

That said, Javea is the best all rounder . We just love it. Have done for 30 years. So much so, we bought a villa there.

You have the Dark side, Denia. The other side of the mountain, Moraira the other. Benitaxell, the mountains, Sierra Bernia, Jalon valley, trains to Velencia, Alicante. Murcia within a few hours. So many coves and hidden places. We swim in the sea up until November.

Costa blanca is one of our favourite regions of spain. One of the most important things, for us. The Spanish inhabitants and South American migrants are so amiable and friendly. Sadly, some of the ex-pats, be they Brits, French, Dutch, Belgians, Russians, North Africans etc, leave a lot to be desired. The Spanish seem to just get along all the same.

We arrived at Bonterra park last night, not been before, but it has everything you might need and perhaps more importantly less windy than some of the coastal spots we have been at recently.
We will move on to Javea/Moraira next as we know the area and have retired friends living locally. There is a live music venue in Moraira that we hope is open.

Calpe was rammed week before last. Lots of people waiting for Morocco to open. Plenty of space at Villasol last week. In fact Benidorm seemed pretty empty ( compared to the one and only other time we visited )

Seems sites are pretty full as we plan to move along the coast toward Malage from currently being on Bontera
Going to extend our stay here for a few more nights into early Feb but then must and will want to move on

Just trying to see what availability there is in the Calp area

Sun is shinning so cant complain

Cheers GB

Try the car park by the marina in Garrucha.
Not an Aire but if you park in the middle two spaces with the other vans you'll be fine.
We like Garrucha as a town, 6k North of Mojacar.

Nice campsite as you come into Albir from Beni it's just been extended to twice the size was going to try it myself but doesn't accept dogs.

We have secured a spot in area narejos in Los alcàzeres. We have stayed here before, they have a Saturday market near to the site and a decent restaurant onsite.

Mr porky. Not too far from the site, in amongst the houses on a big roundabout there is a hotel which caters for the Austrian community, that are large in that urbanisation.

One of the girls , probably Isabella or Laura, will know where I mean. They offered a typical Austrian menu del dia which was a very nice change.

If you fancy it and can’t find from the reception ladies where it is I will go online & find the street name for you.

Nice restaurant here on camping Mar Menor, Kinita Restaurant and Beach club, if you come out of the site your on turn left out of the gate walk down to the prom turn left again you come to a board walk follow it along all the way then you will come to it about 20min walk.

Looking at booking Sol de Cape Austral from 3rd Feb for 6 nights all they got but its 30 euro a night
I guess its location as the pitches look quiet close. Expensive car park.

Does seem busy though so I guess there ramping the price back up

Any nice airs about as dont need much in way of facilities a toilet would be nice

There are quite a few Aires in Calpe but quite ramed in compared to Sol but a lot cheaper. I take €30 is for a big pitch.
Their is an ASCI site almost next door.

We looked at this just before new year after leaving Bonterra it was very busy then but put it down to it being new year, they wanted 28€ then, couldn't get a fag paper between the vans, they also have a area across the road but my biggest no no is they have just opened a fair ground right next door to it.

The sister site looked better up the road and near Aldi, Camping Sol de Calpe Boreal, or Paraiso Camper.

Definitely second this campsite
but there is a lot of building work going on during daylight

30 euro medium site for 7.5 metre home she said only one spot left but that could well be a bit of salesmen licence

We have a toad so dont really need to be right by the sea plus we dont really use the facilities much. Swimming pool etc

Like a simple tire but they looked remed in to
Maybe there is no pleasing me

Somewhere away from the sea front could be the answer

Still searching as they haven't taken my email reply saying Ill have it

A couple of pics of us on a small pitch at Sol de Cape Austral, could have had a big one with loads of room for another €5.

Gone up this year the posh aire is €60 for a bigger pitch.
We stayed at both Austral and Boreal the year they opened, they're both excellent. I recall that for a few weeks at either it was not far off €6 per night. They may be good but they're never worth €60! We've tried to get in the ACSI site next door a few times, pitches there are often booked a year in advance.

Yep thats the one. Totally squeezed in, no real view and a fair hike to the nice bit, I'm not getting it !
It was Easter only place we could get and all the other Aires much further away from the town and beach. What do you mean squeezed in I thought we had plenty of room we could have had a big pitch that one was fine for us.

We went round it on the scooter about 2 weeks ago and they were really shoehorned in. I have no probs with door to door on aires but expect to have some view. All they could see was each other or walls it felt oppressive to us.

I think we picked the spot on the corner although it gave us less space it was more open, not a fan of sites at the best of times prefer Aires.
