Boiler won't start...success!!

Hi guys and gals, it works well now. Thanks to all who contributed, it has been a most useful lesson for me. You all helped me very much. The awards and special thanks go to Swifter, Wino and Mitzimad for coming up with the solution.....TAKE THE COVER OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Anyone know its consumption? its a 10 litre boiler.

They certainly don't use a lot.I just turn mine on 30 minutes before I shower in morning then leave off until wanted again

What boiler is it? Make, model? Gas or leccy consumption?
If you don't have a manual you can probably get the spec'ns from Google.

We recon to use about 50p of gas if off grid a day that includes hot water fridge and cooking. Thats with a diesel space heater and a refillable cylinder.
